Man, this would be absolutely wonderful to play on 4.0. Too bad it seems dead.
Swagatron 11 May @ 1:25pm
@williamestep23 that would be amazing, as this is one of the coolest ideas for a start and I thoroughly enjoyed it when it was around (which is what brought me back to this page). Good luck and I'll be watching out.
williamestep23 6 May @ 3:21pm
@swagatron, I'll start looking into it soon here then. It'll probably be a couple of weeks though. IRL responsibilities and all that
Swagatron 6 May @ 1:56pm
@williamstep23 if you look at the bottom of the page he grants permission to anyone to do with it what they like, usually people of course give credit to the original creator of the mod/idea as a courtesy though.
williamestep23 19 Feb @ 12:46pm
I may be able to take it over if the original author has abandoned it. Has anyone managed to reach out to them?
thefunnyfritz 18 Feb @ 8:31pm
Seems to be forcing crashes but I am presently looking into if I'm just a jackass
이사우로스 11 Aug, 2024 @ 7:09am
i hope this mod can play.
alfharobby 2 Aug, 2024 @ 4:15pm
could you update this mod please
Sparble 24 Jan, 2024 @ 3:31am
awesome
Nohan 16 Nov, 2023 @ 11:01am
Update when?
MyresMkG 17 Oct, 2023 @ 3:18am
Everyone, I've made a version with no requirements here .
sunxyw 6 Jul, 2023 @ 3:39am
Does anyone know if this mod works with 3.8.4?
Skill Less 18 Jun, 2023 @ 3:02am
@Tinfoot this is not intended but this mod didnt get any updates since 3.6
So we might have to wait or find an active modder who wants to take over.
Tinfoot 8 Jun, 2023 @ 1:31pm
Is it possible for an AI to generate with this origin?
I was testing my load order with random empires and this seemed to happen, everyone but a single empire was dead in a galaxy of shattered worlds and black holes
FuZ_Lord 23 Mar, 2023 @ 5:48pm
update when?
Splee 21 Mar, 2023 @ 11:33am
@Fourth Dimensional Biscuit. I saw but it's causing issues with the new primitives. I could probably play on an earlier version, but I was just so excited to play with the new system with this mod. I can wait though, the update just came out and I know those mods are affected the most.
Quill 21 Mar, 2023 @ 10:56am
@Spleedude We already do. Look up "Engineers of Life - Lite" on the workshop.
Splee 21 Mar, 2023 @ 8:53am
Just wanted to say I cant wait to play with this once we get a mod that lets you create primitives. It look incredibly fun to roleplay and is a super unique idea.
Xelaria 14 Mar, 2023 @ 4:45am
is this still under development?
williamestep23 28 Feb, 2023 @ 5:33pm
As crazy as that would be the game would not handle it. But it might be possible to have it be gradual. Although as I say that the game does handle the engine firing. I wonder if it would be worth looking into exactly how that works and why the game doesn't uninstall itself when a crisis wins
Shemiroth 27 Feb, 2023 @ 3:48am
Sounds like a nice mod. I am wondering though, could this be made at the end of a campaign? Say the end crisis happens and wipes out a bunch of empires leaving them with only 1 or 2 systems and they have to rebuild and explore again?

It would make the game a cycle where every 500 years or so the galaxy is reset by some end game crisis like the Unbidden.
Fibre🌹 11 Feb, 2023 @ 6:12am
My dumb butt didn't read the description and when I loaded in I thought I had a black hole generation bug. I've read it now, that's a unique origin. Love the mod now
KnownSaturn9660 10 Feb, 2023 @ 10:26am
when trying to use this in multiplayer, we both crash
im hoping theres a way around this or if this is strictly a single player origin
Mallorn 5 Feb, 2023 @ 7:35am
@Winchestro You can remove mass from a Black Hole - that is exactly what Hawking radiation does. Black Holes do evaporate but the higher the mass the longer they take to evaporate. Stellar mass black holes will last for many orders of magnitude longer than the current age of the universe.
Winchestro 4 Feb, 2023 @ 3:18am
@Maelstorm Vortex
It's density and not mass that creates the event horizon of a black hole and you can not remove either (that's why it's black). If you could remove mass the event horizon would shrink but it would remain a black hole until the mass reaches 0 and it disappears.
Maelstrom Vortex 3 Feb, 2023 @ 2:34am
@Broseph I think you mean extract stellar mass. Having too much stellar mass is what causes the black holes to begin with. You'd have to remove mass, survive the nova when its gravitational field was no longer able to sustain the singularity, and then drain it to the point it was just a ball of floating material, and then re-add stellar fuel. IE: Hydrogen/Helium isotopes until it reignited, then survive the ignition of the baby star.
LiTe 2 Feb, 2023 @ 11:47am
Is it possible to add a way to generate Stellar mass to the new origins somehow in order to turn the black holes into stars again? Currently if you harvest the black holes for Stellar mass they don't give you any. This might be a bug and not a feature, but it's probably from the other mod.
williamestep23 31 Jan, 2023 @ 8:39am
BYOP: Bring your own planets

Or

Introducing Galaxy Lite, tastes just like the original Galaxy, but with 99% less planets!
Andromeda 30 Jan, 2023 @ 10:33am
"The ultimate one-planet challenge"
williamestep23 30 Jan, 2023 @ 8:17am
yes
KnownSaturn9660 29 Jan, 2023 @ 7:45pm
so what happens if i choose the origin whilst having ai empires spawn, i assume unless they have the same origin they perish
Quin_D 24 Jan, 2023 @ 7:07pm
it happens, but ive found its alot less likely to be a yes vote, depending on their ethics
williamestep23 23 Jan, 2023 @ 2:24pm
@Taxel Theoretically sure. uplift 2 primitives and you should get the option
taxel 22 Jan, 2023 @ 3:14pm
Is it possible to form the Galactic community with this?
IamSagittare 22 Jan, 2023 @ 1:09pm
It seems like the black hole manipulation has a slight error in the code you edited. You change the star class of the black hole to class T after extraction. Class T can't be manipulated afterwards. If you instead turn it into a class M, it works just fine.
Another note: it allows you to put an injector on black holes, which just sits there completing again and again without changing the star class at all.
If anyone is in a game and you have already turned some black holes in to Class T stars you can select the star and run this command (without quotes): "effect change_pc = {class = pc_m_star}" to change the star into a class M, which allows further manipulation. After one manipulation it should fix the weirdness with the star and galaxy map system visuals.
Nebula 22 Jan, 2023 @ 8:00am
Now this mod i love.
spectre199 21 Jan, 2023 @ 10:50am
I could see the lone species repopulating the galaxy.
OrdinalChaos 19 Jan, 2023 @ 6:22pm
The upcoming DLC seems like it could be great for this project.
Sarth 19 Jan, 2023 @ 3:41pm
This is a very interesting concept, and I will be watching with great enthusiasm to see how it develops. I really dig the idea of being the Precursor, and working to fix a galaxy that is devastated, reseeding it with life, and then being the Big Good when the crisis start happening. The benevolent precursor to shield the galaxy they only JUST finished putting back together.
Khenal 17 Jan, 2023 @ 4:48pm
very cool mod, but random ai can start with the origin, which can mess up a galaxy, heh. Is there any way to make it so the ai can't take the origin?
Nero's Praetor 16 Jan, 2023 @ 8:47pm
is it possible in multiplayer if everyone takes the origin? That would be amazing to be able to rebuild the galaxy with friends
Quin_D 16 Jan, 2023 @ 8:25pm
does anyone have a list of mods that are confirmed incompatible? it wont stop crashing whenever i start a game, and i cant tell what mods might be causing it, if any. def this mod, only crashes when i use this origin
Ced 16 Jan, 2023 @ 10:03am
What he said.

Silent0Death 16 Jan, 2023 @ 9:57am
Honestly, I just want the traits, I already have too many origins to try.
Chissana 16 Jan, 2023 @ 7:28am
@Rodogorgon You are absolutely right! I didn't even second-guess that it was a mod-related story since it fit in so perfectly with the narrative of the mod. Thanks!
Rodogorgon 16 Jan, 2023 @ 1:19am
@Chissana I think I might be wrong, but iirc that's part of vanilla. You gotta find a frozen world, a barren world, and a molten world, as well as some others. Which is impossible in this case. Might be wrong tho.
Chissana 15 Jan, 2023 @ 10:59pm
I am running into an issue where the initial objective to investigate 5 extinct civilizations doesn't seem to progress through archaeology or any projects I have found. Am I missing something?
MyresMkG 15 Jan, 2023 @ 5:10pm
Not everyone uses Gigastructural Engineering and its submod. Just making another mod that requires this mod and GE is better, I think.
Rodogorgon 15 Jan, 2023 @ 3:12pm
Just gonna say, this mod is one of the best I have ever played. And I have played a lot. Just logged off after having uplifted my first civilization (some science birds), the first of many. That is if the Aeternum and the 10 midgame crisis don't kill me. Great mod!
Elidien  [author] 15 Jan, 2023 @ 2:46pm
@Silent0Death I can whip up a "just origins" version when I get a chance again. Probably tomorrow evening.

@Reginald Amanita <3 Amateur writer though with a lot of self-study, no other writing classes beyond what you get in general courses. Normally don't write sci-fi so the mod probably has a more fantasy feel to it.

Bit too much of the reclusive type to make videos of myself but if someone else does that would be cool.
