Truthfully Locutus, I know nothing about SE Servers. My best guess is that your issue is with Modular Encounter Systems itself and just manifests when it tries to load a spawn mod. I'm not gonna hunt through your steam ID list to figure out what each mod you have is, but if my mod is the only spawn group mod you have installed i'd suggest testing another MES spawn mod first and see if it'll boot with that. If it doesn't, i'd check the main MES page for any mod incompatibilities.

Yea.. idk.. not sure if you could use a trigger (Peace Accepted) as a way to spawn in ships, then have them declare war when they arrive at your base. :D

does make me wonder about a dominion mod, but I'm not sure how I'd make them declare peace and then slowly take over your society from within.

hmm, guess they've taken a page from the Dominion's book. Jokes aside I'll look into updating that, shouldn't be much of an issue when I have the time.

Is there a way to prevent the borg from offering peace? On our game they suddenly offered peace? Need them to stay agressive the same way Perpetually Preturbed Pirates does.

they are designed primarily for a planetary start; a way to make space a dangerous place to be. you could always go into the mod files, I believe the SpawnGroup file contains a line called PCUMinimum that you can use to adjust when the borg spawn. Just remember to save the new version into AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods so it doesn't get overwritten when you launch the world.

I feel like they might be set to spawn a bit early. My (barely functional anyway) asteroid base had just been torn apart and I was in the process of making an ark ship to get me onto a planet surface when a cube showed up and took out me and everything I owned in a matter of minutes.

The Borg Infinity mod linked above spawns them like a normal MES mod, where they'll keep being spawned. You're welcome to tweak the spawn rate in the mod files (my video may help set you on the path) to make them spawn at a rate you're more happy with. As for weaponcore I don't use it so i'm not very familiar, but the weapons on the grid are vanilla so you may need a mod to replace the weapons if weaponcore doesn't do it automatically.

it would be pretty doable, idk if I'll be going through the process to do it, but feel free to go in and make the change yourself. At the bottom of the description is a link to the video I made actually creating this mod, it doesn't necessarily cover changing the spawn chance but it should get you in the right direction if you've never dug into these sorts of things.

This version only spawns once, sort of like a final boss to fight, it shouldn't despawn if you run away though, should still be floating around somewhere. If you want a version where they continuously spawn, check out my Borg - Infinity mod (link in this mod's description)

Don´t worry i ain´t gonna upload this one. I honestly doubt anybody has my kind of odd and random Mod Setup which i use during my sessions. I am more of a Mod it till it breaks kinda guy.

Based of the Requirements of this mod i guess its a vanilla based design (Nothing wrong with that). Could i possibly ask for the Blueprint of those Masterpieces via a seperate workshop Entry? I wanna modifiy them with some modded Energy weapony to give them that extra SPICE.

they will only spawn in space, so you'll be safe so long as you're on the planet, though they do detect in a large enough area that your base on the planet will count towards your PCU when you launch to space

Great mod. I was complety blown to pieces when a Cube spawned 7km out from my orbital station (which only had 4 turrets)

the 15000 PCU can be ship, station, or a mix of both. The borg are set up to be a rare spawn, so you may need to wait a while for them to turn up. Chances are a little higher if they are the only NPC you have (so just the borg and the base MES) but they still may not spawn for a while. I'd suggest just focusing on other things for a while or switching over to The Borg - Infinity mod linked above that makes them more common if you just wanna fight. Also, they do only spawn in space, so if you're down on a planet or moon they won't show up.

I'm probably doing something wrong. I have both mods activated and more than 15,000 PCU nearby and still no Borg to be seen. Do the 15,000 PCU have to be a ship or can it also be a station?

There is a mod that add armor slabs up to 20x20 Link . One I extensively used modified version of to build my battleship. Physical shape count will be unchanged but block number will be down several times. Also i configured MES to give shields to all spawned ships. But it takes quite some some time and power for them to charge. Suggestion: give the cube some GW of power to boost its shields.
With boss events (usually 5k+ block ships) you have the choice to engage them on not.
One final note my battleship was built in survival over several months of real time.

btw in some other games, devs have added in a double-sized texture option.
maybe there can be a way for the borg cube to be made up of half (or a 1/4) of the number of actual blocks it normal takes, and for the game to simply scale up the visual size so that they still look as big - just made up of say 25% of the blocks, but each block has more hitpoints etc in proportion?

yeah, the unfortunate drawback to such a large npc is that it really does knock the performance. I should warn that I didn't design the borg with shield mods in mind, They could probably still overwhelm a weaker shielded ship, but shields would make them much easier overall. I don't mind re-uploading so long as you give credit, I made a whole tutorial on modding to encourage people's creativity! I have thought about making a separate upload where they are back to a normal (if rare) enemy for people who want a continual threat, but the challenge there is if one borg cube causes lag, 2 or 3 borg cubes really starts to strain the game.

Finally the cube spawned in my world. Big thanks to you for enjoyable battle which lasted a few minutes.
i'll modify the mod to make the cube 'boss event' instead of 'unique event'. so i can fight it multiple times. =) i'll not reupload the mod don't worry.
p.s. the cube wasn't able to make a dent in my ship's shields (500m battleship (170K PSU). dual layered shields (defense shields / energy shields) =))
FYI sim speed during the fight was 0.5-0.7 with some nasty stutters.

@bubblebutt, not sure if you've watched the tutorial video but it gives a solid rundown of the technical side of the mod. If you're asking about how the gameplay works, I want some of it to remain mysterious but the gist is when you build a lot of blocks in your world and go to space, the Borg will come to smack you. You then (probably) want to build up enough to deal with them or find some other way to destroy them.

if the borg cubes need a lot of resources (computer performance), maybe even the occasional derelict borg probe ship (which are tiny by comparison)? :)

This is so good! I have a very large ship and it's shields finally dropped against the borg cube so I thought I will jump away and regen my shields, to my surprise the borg cube jumped after me!!! So cool and scary lol

@Jake The borg have been embeaconed! It replaces their antenna and has a range equal to the detection range, so anyone counted in the borg's PCU search will see them ominously in the distance. Should work for your needs and adds the ability for brave engineers to jump to the borg and attack (or die trying)

Typically larger MP servers, like mine, will use beacon clean ups to get rid of debris periodically because its more reliable than vanilla clean up. Would you be willing to update the prefab with a beacon? It doesn't need to be turned on to avoid this kind of clean up check. If not I understand. Thanks!

It has an antenna, I'm not very familiar with that type of thing on a server, but in general it shouldn't get cleaned up because it's moving and powered
