i've tested this mod and vfe patch. i have two gather gunpowder recipes:
1. The one you intended
2. 1 bullet = 10 gunpowder

i have loaded only your mod + patch and vfe, tried loading vfe first and then the mod and works the same

Also vanilla ammo gunpowder gathering doesnt work as you intended (uses 2 case from above)

@Skilledmaze, yes look in the crafting tab you got a recipe for charcoal other than the vanilla one.
@Hitsu, when you set up your game or server you need to add not only Mod ID: vac but add vac_fb41_patch too, like this: Mod ID: vac;vac_fb41_patch;etc... ok? remember to always put vac first!

I know nooby question but some reason i didint get patch to work on server. I have basic ammo crafting now but not fb41.. So is it only to change config files ;vac; to ;vac_fb41_patch; or do i need both?

i think it's another mod, you need 30 7.62 bullet to get 1 gunpowder (10 uses) than to make a single stock of 12 gauge you need 1 gunpowder (10 units) i don't remember exactly how much 12g you get but it's like 12 or something

I think it's because I was using the vanilla "Gather gunpowder recipe", which gives you 10 units of powder per bullet. No wonder I was getting a ton lol. I don't have it on me right now, but how much gunpowder do you normally get with your mod from scrapping bullets? And, how much do I need to craft some shotgun shells?

Basically, I'd gathered around 40 rounds of 7.62, right? I went to the craft editor to check recipes for making gunpowder, and realized there were a couple recipes I could click on. I don't remember if the first ones I tried were as abundant, but there was one called "gather gunpowder" that allowed me to use it with any ammo I had. When I disassembled the 7.62, I got like 50 little jars of gunpowder and later I was able to craft 200 shells without going through a third of the gunpowder. It just gave me way too much gunpowder for what I had sacrificed to make it.

Hopefully that makes a bit more sense now. I want to know how to reduce the amount of gunpowder I get, or maybe I used the wrong recipe?

mmm, so when you create a ammo the number of that ammo are what you need to transform back into powder, so i don't get what are you saying, if you discard 9mm you can do whataver with the powder

Not sure if it was this mod, but when I was getting gunpowder from bullets, it gave me a lot per bullet. I basically was able to make hundreds of shotgun shells after destroying around 40 or 50 9mm and 7.62 bullets. Can I edit some of the recipes?

I only use VFE

depends on what 7.62 are you using from what mod, see the pach section, not all firearms mod are supported. You use them in a recipe to make the bullets

theres no mold for 7.62. Also how do you use them?

@zelta, the difficulty of getting GunPowder depends on your sandbox settings, on my server it's quite hard so don't need to be more hard iself, i will make the patch when i got some time ye

@S4ro, sorry, yes that's what I meant. It's why I specified compatibility versus asking for a patch in my original comment. I apologize for the confusion.
But yes, in VFE, it adds only those two ammo types and they're all that is missing from this mod to make it patched for VFE.

I hope this clears things up, and to answer your question completely: Yes I only miss .22 and 7.62 in VFE.

Hi there! I had noticed that you had mentioned that this is compatible with VFE, which it obviously is, but I was wondering if you planned on making a patch for the two ammo types added by the mod? I really like the fact you don't add a way to make it easier to craft charcoal and I really want to use this with VFE, but it doesn't seem like it has a patch for the two additional ammo types of .22 and 7.62 specifically in VFE.

Just if someone is interested:
The main reason I use this now on my server btw., is not to create gun powder in the first place (even if it's possible with this mod with some effort - maybe should be a little bit more difficult to obtain), but I looked for a way to dismantle my already hard collected ammo we don't need or we don't like to use and make it to the bullets for weapons we want. It shouldn't be too easy and no early game thing / it requires good skill in metal working and craft a mould.. very well done!

But the thing is, with this mod, me and my gf are super motivated to collect ammo again while exploring / and searching for. So even this whole thing is a "crafting mod" - I installed it for giving motivation while exploring/looting and searching for ammo again. Mid/Late game of course.

@Oldnag, in Vanilla charcoal is found in storage, and even in Vanilla you can make it with the help of a metal barrel, in all other case you can use a mod that gives you the possibility to make it in different ways like my mod "Handycraft"
