Hello, this sounds very cool. Because I am curious, would you please explain the process you used to balance the costs? Thank you for making this mod. The information would be useful for people inventing new creatures to add to the game and be part of the embark menu too.

@afterxander It depends on if your civilization allows them to be citizens which is determined in world gen. Sometimes animal people can be citizens and trolls classified as animals and vice versa.

Does this add giant animals to the embark as well?

I would look into dfhack if you want something like a universal unlocker but that is still early in development for version 50.

I'm unsure if you can make a thing like a universal unlocker because the way embarks work, you can only embark with animals your civilization has access to because of how the game is coded. I plan to make all animals available to dwarven civilizations, but whether they show up on the embark menu or not is random. I also plan to add some intelligent animals to embark, such as animal men and cave dwellers, but I cannot add all unless I want to mess up the world gen of everyone that downloads it. The good thing about non-intelligent animal mods is 99 percent of them already have it so you can embark with the added animal. Mods with intelligent animals I can add to this mod would be on a case-by-case basis (I would need to ask the mod author if I can use their asset.)

what do you mean by "allowing you to embark with many animals" like is this reducing the point cost of the animals or maybe adding new animals to the embarking options list
