@Thrice honestly I dont know. The last report was that it still works. Worst case a small subset of modifiers wont work, so theres not much that can go wrong anyway if you dont see massive issues from the getgo.

@Parun sure go ahead with making another pantheon, just make sure to use a compatible trait id set :)

might I suggest replacing the chance of appearence to be in line with the much more elegant "@greek_t1_chance" it's a very quick change, you just need to find replace
birth =0.5
birth =0.1
birth =0.02

with

birth = @norse_t1_chance
birth = @norse_t2_chance
birth = @norse_t3_chance

Also I really like this mod, would it be OK to create one based on another pantheon but using your code?

Having the same issue as @alsterv
Selected Germanic People's only and the traits are incredibly rare, running it alongside your Greek one too and those are everywhere (almost too common) but the Norse ones have died out by Year 1000 on an 867 start and don't seem to appear anymore. Using the console to give them to myself works (provided I'm the correct heritage) but they do not get passed on to any kids.

It looks like there might an issue with traits identifying culture and language. If the option to only select Germanic or Norse speaking, it does not select any people in the world and I don't think it allows this to be passed genetically to offspring.

@Harry the Unlucky I think it should work but it will only generate traits on new characters born. So the initial pool of traits will be a lot lot smaller. You gotta try I guess

While using your tip to make a personalized game rule I learned that your mod here has a weird thing . Only Balder level 1 has the
AND = {
has_game_rule = blood_of_norse_gods_rule_culture_broad_restriction
OR = {
culture = { has_cultural_pillar = heritage_north_germanic }
culture = { has_cultural_pillar = heritage_central_germanic }
culture = { has_cultural_pillar = heritage_west_germanic }
}

so when using the rule for all culture's, it's the only one that spawns lol. no wonder Balder was always the most common... Or is this intentional?

50 out of 10 people get a tier 1 trait, 10 out of 10 get tier 2, and 2 out of 10 get tier 3?

@SuperGamerK sadly not possible with how the character creator works.
You could manually open the trait file of this mod, set all the spawn chances to 0 (still enable it for all) but only give it your character via the creator or console commands so that only your progeny has a chance of getting these traits. Its something ive done for a personal campaign.

@Víkingur if you set limitations (eg. only greeks) who can get the traits (even if it wouldnt apply to your character in the creation screen) then all traits will be disabled by default as the character editor does not revalidate if traits would be valid for your creation. Its sadly something I cant get around.

@Freyja inheritance and random generation. The rules for traits are pretty static in that regard, even rules work only in wonky ways. Probably doable via an event based trait system but thats out of the scope for this mod and not that trivial

Does the game rule restrictions only apply too random appearance, or also to inheritance?
if the latter, would it be possible to create a version where only ppl w/ the given restrictions can randomy gain the traits, but everyone can inherit them?

+ Laurels borders to make it easier to discern between T2 and T3 traits
+ Game rules for trait eligibility: (All / None / all cultures with Norse language pillar / North Germanic cultural pillar only / Any Germanic cultural pillar)

Obviously still compatible in combination with the greek gods traits mod

@CaliBlueBear yeah I started on it and then paused as I got frustrated with the icon overlays I found. Tried some rune circles but they all either looked flat, invisible and just not plastic enough. Might aswell just reuse the laurels from the greeks and get this over with.

@Historian09 they are designed to work together, thats why they occupy different trait id slots. Only issue you might have is that there are more traits to go around :D

This is a great idea and the buffs seem thematically sound. It would be nice, however, for these to be at least mostly connected to suitable culture/religion.

@KingBigGuy I tried making an ai portrait with an eyepatch or something of the sorts but I only got uncanny or bad results. So in my head I justify it in a way that I displays Odin before he traded in the eye. If I were to take the final stages then Balder would literally be dead xD

@Fiddlesticks lmao thats hilarious. Sadly there is no such hidden modifier in place. I remember that when CK3 came out this was a huge problem to get offspring with desired traits because the wife would constantly cheat. Thats why I soon tried to change my laws to female preference to get better control about the offspring and their traits^^
