@paced938 maybe the modded weapons are set as tools instead of weapons. Tools are set to aim at short distance so that would explain it being “wrong”.
Can you send a link or name of one of the weapons that is having this issue?

Been having issues with some modded weapons intermittently, where they point and fire to the left. On some worlds it works fine with most, and sometimes not at all. Should this load after modded weapons maybe?

I encountered a weird bug where when using the Jetpack I would just teleport backwards. It was quite funny lol.

@The Riel Hey thanks for reporting, this camera is actually the spectator camera placed as third person camera, but the tooltip is strange. Maybe it is some config you can disable? I will check if I can see it and disable it by code.

I cannot seem to piece together why I am seeing a tool tip for spectator mode while using 3rd person view. It shows up at the far top middle-right of the screen, quite annoyingly.

@Rushlow Hmm.. I see. Working when the 3rd person is disabled is actually a feature since there are cases that you want to disable that long distance camera but keep this one.

But I see the problem, we can think something else to solve it.

Try disabling spectator camera, this camera is basically that camera positioned near the player.

Would it be possible to change this to not work if 3rd person is disabled in the world? I run a first-person only server and some players are using this via plugin loader to cheat.

@Anitram Not sure how I could calculate the "shoulder" position for a ship, it can have so many different sizes...

@AttackingHobo Did you use it before? Maybe the keybind options is disabled?
To enabled the key => /otscam keybind true
Check if the spectator camera is enabled in your world.
Try pressing F9 to see if the camera changes to the spectator camera.

I can't get this to work? I press V nothing happens other than regular 3rd person. I've added the mod to a world.

@Peekofwar oh I see… we can’t change fov or camera zoom with mods, unfortunately. There is a plug-in that does that, I think it is called adjustable fov.

@GarbaWorm I have an idea about a possible fix for the leaving chair issue, not sure about the scope issue… thanks.

Something I'd like to see is a mod script that lets you zoom to some degree with a keybind... Often text screens are too small to read, especially in cockpits, and some way to quickly zoom in just-enough, would be useful.
Maybe you could allow keybinds to be altered through Rich HUD Master.

@SunGod Hey, you can use /otscam keybind false to remove it from the cycle. It will still be available using F9 key.

Since F9 may not work on server I also added "Alt + V" as alternative to cycle even when keybind is false, must be in first person view.

While I like the additional view, having it automatically appear in the camera view cycling (using V) can be very disruptive and disorienting in combat or emergency situations. Just a little feedback, just my two cents. Guess it's just my play-style.

Appreciate the work that went in to this and sharing it with the community.

@Patrick I didn’t know there was an update. But yes, I added the new camera to the cycle and didn’t replace the original third person. If that is what is happening. I will double check the update just in case. Thanks!

Hey Adriano! After that last update, now when you press V the game toggles through three camera views: first-person, over-the-shoulder, then vanilla third-person. Was that deliberate?

Love this mod. Just a head's up, when you are in admin mod and use CTRL-V to paste something, it toggles the view.

@Langreen Hi, thanks for reporting.
I saw that problem as well, and unfortunatelly that seems to be a game problem. I think they used the same button (Y) to "teleport the player" to the spectator camera position. (Ctrl+Space on keyboard)
Since this new camera is the F9 spectator camera positioned near the character it has the same limitation. (F7 and F8 cameras have the same).

I could report this to Keen, but I don't think they will change that or how long that would take.
For now I think you need switch to a vanilla camera before trying to fly, sorry. :steamsad:

Awesome mod! But, I play on a gamepad (xbox 360) on a PC, and instead of starting / stopping the jetpack with the "Y" button, the character just twitches vertically, about two meters.

Also about the ironsight, I think that can't be done. We don't have access to interact directly with the vanilla camera so I can't force that. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just added commands to use left side and to disable keybind cycle.
@Sensational Being Please double check if you're using the correct commands. You need to add the " / " before and need to add either true or false as argument. Like:

" /otscam hold true "
If correct, your message will not be sent to chat history.

I'm not seeing the suggested chat commands take effect.

And I would like it if there could be an option to have the "zoom" be the default perspective of looking down the sights of the weapon.

@jglenn1562 I think I can't prevent that, I couldn't find a way to detect that action. Since it is an admin action and it is easy to undo I won't worry about it for now. If in the future I find a workaround I can fix it.

Was looking for a mod like this! Didn't know that it was possible with the mod API! Maybe have this mod added to PluginLoader. (PluginLoader can load client side only mods in all worlds, even if the server doesn't have the mod.)

I think I found a bug.
In creative, or survival mode with admin abilities, press F8. > Move to some grid, and press ' * ' to have the camera follow it. > Then press F6 to go back to character view. > Press ' V ' to cycle cameras. > Now you will have the over-the-shoulder view mode replaced with that grid you previously tracked.
