So actually you were right the first time. I only just woke up so sorry for the late information. But anyway, having my server admin reinstall the mod fixed the issue. Its even nicer than the pictures, somehow. Thanks for the help!

I tried it in my DS and it works fine there: https://i.imgur.com/HBEvylZ.png - the model is replaced too. Does yours have the icon and description replacement?

Send the client SE log from when you joined the server so I can see what's happening there.
The Guilty Pillow 8 Feb @ 12:04pm
Yeah, nada. I followed every step, fully clean reinstall, vanilla model still. Are you sure I dont need the server admin to reinstall on the server?
The Guilty Pillow 8 Feb @ 11:52am
ooooooooooooooooooooh
Ill check too then! Thanks for the clarification
Digi  [author] 8 Feb @ 11:51am
The server admin isn't relevant... unless the mod doesn't exist on the server?
All the things I've asked are to be done on your client, because you're the one not seeing the effects :P

I'll get our server admin on it soon as he wakes up. Thanks.

N/A ones are blocks that aren't available for the current selected size, I don't think those are this mod because this only edits the model path on the vanilla ones.

One possibility is that the mod was partially downloaded by steam and has compile errors because of that, try: https://spaceengineers.wiki.gg/wiki/Fixing_Download_Corruption (on your client, the mod doesn't do anything DS-side)
If that's not solving it, can you send your client SE log (as mentioned in that page too).

The models don't seem to appear in our MP server. I see that there are two extra variants for the hinge, but both are marked N/A and I cant select them.

Absolutely brilliant for those retro builds, this needs to be a vanilla alternative option
Crazypuer 20 Jun, 2024 @ 9:23am
Amazing! Love your models!

Oh my bad. Time really flies.

feb 2023 vs jan 2024 :P

@Digi Your comment is from February, but the last update is from January. Is it fixed, or is it not.^^ Anyways, thanks for your dedication.
Digi  [author] 6 Feb, 2023 @ 12:43am
Yeah I found the issue earlier aswell and it seems to do that everywhere =) I dunno what I did but clearly I broke it between testing it and publishing it :/

Surprised it took this long for someone to report it :P

Anyway, fixed now!

@Digi, I just found out these are apparently not working correctly on servers. the hinge part end of the central tube is missing and the tube won't bend when the hinge is adjusted.

Just came here to comment the same thing a hollow version would be lovely or a hollow piston version as well.
C.DEF 31 Jan, 2023 @ 6:03pm
Digi I think it would be quite cool to have it hollow (or a variant that it) just so you can walk between them if you wanted to, whether it would pressurize or not
Digi  [author] 31 Jan, 2023 @ 5:01pm
It sounds possible sure, I'm probably not gonna do it though =)

A small problem is airtightness can't traverse grids, you'll need an airvent on both sides along with the hinge heads being sealed... which introduces another problem, you can just use them without the head as a magic-forcefield-like-airlock xD
[7HBK] Elrond McBong 31 Jan, 2023 @ 2:45pm
I wonder if it would be technically possible to make them hollow, so that we can walk trough the hinge. I like to build articulated rovers in my deep sea world but go from the front half to the back half is in impossible without leaving the compartments, no matter if with mods or vanilla.

So make a air tight walk through variant would solve a problem that not just i have and this model would be perfect for it.
Rusted Droid 29 Jan, 2023 @ 4:34pm
Hope one day you try to make 2 block hinge, so ppl like me can use them with Merge blocks.
C.DEF 29 Jan, 2023 @ 12:24pm
The best thing to have would be a ball hinge design, being able to have both the properties of a hinge and a rotor would make things so much better.
chrishoule1366 29 Jan, 2023 @ 6:59am
ngl i was a little upset when the vanilla hinges came out bc i liked this mod so much best part is it work (least for me) even until now but ive got 1 to many mods in my games glad this is brought back to life
Knut A. 28 Jan, 2023 @ 9:01pm
But if I want both looks I add the legacy one?
Digi  [author] 28 Jan, 2023 @ 3:51pm
It shouldn't affect anything as they use the same physical colliders as vanilla hinges, even though they don't match with the visuals of this. It's to keep things working the same without any clang consequences from the mod itself (either from adding or from removing).
Knut A. 28 Jan, 2023 @ 3:39pm
I guess if I add this it will screw up all my ball turrets that are built in the vanilla hinges?
RMazer 28 Jan, 2023 @ 3:30pm
WE NEED WALKTHROUGH HINGES
darinreynolds90 28 Jan, 2023 @ 2:57pm
i like it
SMooreAce 28 Jan, 2023 @ 1:48pm
It is kinda dumb that they took the lazy route and tossed a small hinge part floating in nothingness.
Digi  [author] 28 Jan, 2023 @ 11:34am
@Queef Chief
It's *ok*, the large+medium does not line up the arms properly, as for large/medium+small it's impossible to anyway, I did however add a laser to connect them, a bit too sci-fi but looks better to me than just nothingness =)
Qu33f Chief 28 Jan, 2023 @ 11:18am
Hmm, I wonder how it looks when replacing the hinge between large grid to small.
ABlueHairedFox 28 Jan, 2023 @ 9:31am
I have a feeling I may've influenced this lol
SMooreAce 28 Jan, 2023 @ 5:39am
Digi comes to the rescue again! Thank you!
Stratus 28 Jan, 2023 @ 5:25am
Pretty cool!
