Portugal still gets +50 colonial growth from their Age of Discovery ability. It makes them get a pretty big advantage in the colonial game.

You're not wrong! I am in a currently play through using 1.31 and even then it's unreal how fast the natives get stomped into the ground. I'm *almost* done with my game and as soon as I am I will update. My best estimate is not this weekend, but next.

Definitely not meant to rush you, but are you planning to update this for 1.32, since it doesn't work right now? Definitely fine if not, I'm just curious because I've been wanting to do a run where this mod would be good. Unfortunately paradox has leant so hard in the other direction when nerfing the native mechanics from the previous patches that we're back to the entirety of the americas being european in 1720....

Unfortunately, the mod is not backwards compatible with 1.30.6. The definition files changed significantly between 1.3 and 1.31.

I checked and when I deleted the defines file but kept the other ones it works fine now. So the issue is caused by something in the defines. I'm guessing paradox changed some things in the defines in the newer patches and you still have the old defines in the mod and it somehow breaks the AI.

Can you update the mod? Technically it works but for some reason it completely breakes the AI. Nations declare war but never take provinces and it's this mod causing it.

The last version I tested this mod with awas 1.31.3 and with only this mod running it ran fine for me. I will take a look at this mod again soon, however, I am currently away from my computer for a week or two.

Hey is there really no way to get this mod to work with 1.30? 1.31 is completely retarded in terms of realism, and the last semi realistic and historical version is 1.30 so that's what I'm playing, people who play this mod probably are looking for historical accuracy, and 1.31 does not provide it. It's a bummer you updated this to 1.31. There isn't much colonization in 1.31 anyways, since most of north america gets conquered by OP natives before the europeans get there.

I did some tests again. I killed all mods and launched a vanilla 1.31.5 beta with this mod only.
Still got the coalition bug.
Couldn't it be something to do with defines?

My gut tells me this is likely a game bug as opposed to a mod bug. However, I will definitely have a look this week and see if I notice anything the mod might have done.

It was frankly my least suspected one. I tried killing Xorme AI, Expanded missions & govt, well, most big ones.
The last beta did some changes to the AI, could it be it?

Hm, I'll take a look at this but I have no idea how it would effect those things. This mod does nothing to change any values related to peace deals, warfare, etc. The only thing it changes are values related to colony growth speed.

Hello there!

Seems the mod is messing with current 1.35 : I had the AI acting up, not conquering. Actually, the coalition warning is activated for even one province in peace deals. So I guess the AI is reluctant to conquer.
I did some tests and the only time I hadn't the issue is when Slower colonization is turned off.

Unfortunately, I did not save the older versions of the mod. I will look into rolling back and trying to get the mod working with 1.3 again.

Would love to use this mod, since it's very frustrating for everything to be colonized before 1700. However, I cannot get this mod to work. Every time I start a new game, it can never make it past the "initiating" part of loading; always crashes. It's not a compatibility issue, since the same thing happened when it was the only mod loaded up.

@Bandus oh i thought it was way more bcs i think it may be a little too much : atm i get to the point where, in 1600 there are no colonies in north america so i think that a mod with 2/3 or 3/4 of the original settler growth would be nice then

I managed to resolve this myself - it appeared to be a sub mod conflicting, so sorted thanks.
Having played through to 1730 in my latest game I have to say that colonisation (although more realistic) still seems too fast. Im going to play around with load order on mods and see if that makes a difference, thanks.
