What a banger ! The encounters and the level design compliment each other perfectly and this level flows really well. I liked everything, the tank section, the variety of the encounters, the platforming at the end... I'll have to dig the rest of your mods. Thank you for this level.

@Morbster I see what you mean haha. I just played the map, and was struggling with the jump myself. I think might have made the gap between the platforms when I redid the geometry a bit

I enjoyed this very much, although I have to say I almost lost my damn mind trying to jump from the last platform on to the area where the Jackals are before the Scarab battle.

Apart from the platforming, which unfortunately I have to say was absolutely atrocious and infuriating, this was another great map from you.

Just... please, maybe make the gaps between those bits of land you have to jump across a little closer together. I was genuinely chomping at the bit trying to gauge the distance on the last leap, and I still don't think it made any sense how I eventually got over to it. It felt like a pure fluke.

@ilyg Thank you for your review! Great to hear that you enjoyed it. I would like to mention that the grav lift is optional in that part. You can walk around the whole mountain without using it. It's meant to be cheeky way to skip some encounters! :)

It is a bit rough around the edges like some people have noted, however.

At the start of the level (before the tank section), there is some raised geometry and brute shots available to the user. Whether you intended to or not, these two elements suggest to an advanced player that they can use the brute shots to propel themselves up onto the raised geometry as a shortcut. However, what I found is that the geometry was just slightly too high for this, creating some annoyance. This is not a big deal admittedly, but it would be nice if the geometry was raised higher (to tell the player that using a grenade or Brute Shot shot would be futile) or lowered (to tell the player that this is possible.

I greatly enjoyed this level!

One thing I really liked is the re-balanced weapons. Some mod makers use this as an opportunity to make everything (except you) overpowered; weapons do too much damage, enemies have too much health, too many enemies, etc. However, you handled the weapon re-balancing with grace--making them slightly more powerful without completely breaking everything, and I really appreciate that.

I also really like the smartly designed encounters. When I got to the tank section, I dreaded it because I figured there would be 20 or so of the most powerful vehicles and waves of them. But no, that's not what happened. Instead, you placed a reasonable amount of enemy vehicles on the map. The relief I felt when I noticed this was immeasurable.

Absolutely awesome SP map. Great combat encounters and beautiful scenery. This is pretty much the definitive custom campaign map IMO.

@TheSlaY3R_ i can beat it roughly 20 minutes, but it obviously takes longer if you a lot. Just a warning, encounters are generally harder than normal Halo 3

Great job Skorly! I've played through all of your missions and they're top notch; Golden City, Frozen Frontier, and Kill Billus were particularly fun. A little rough around the edges in some spots but they're good enough that they could almost fit right in with the actual campaign, this is what Halo DLC should aspire to emulate. I like the changes you made to the Brutes and the Mauler, I always felt H3's oversized monkeys were a little too wimpy in melee after being the jacked Gorilla-Grizzlys they were in H2.

I played through on legendary with a handful of skulls. I enjoyed the platforming aspects, and it was a lot of fun!

ah well, great mod, like i said i loved it. but man i had no such checkpoint and there wasnt anything i could see that would stop it. (enemies, movement, etc.) so there's no reason mine shouldn't have activated after all my tries, but yee i'm over it now LOL.

P3 go through, ALL THAT, get to the last zoomie, and the scarab shoots where i land. 0 way to dodge, 100% NOT my fault. it then become a game of trying to optimize my speed and health to get to the end as fast and reliably as possible, so i could die to scarab bull. while my deaths arent the creators fault, my need to do it all again is. i felt so punished for trying anything new and like i had to just mindlessly repeat whatever worked. it was so defeating to do that whole section 10+ times. call me garbage at the game, that's fine even if i am. but doing that again was *not fun*. so, petition to add a checkpoint when you get to the final platform. amazing mod, loved the last section before i died. loved the rest of the mod. keep it up, i'ma figure out how tf mak map in blendoor. 8/10

P2 tank run was great, everything after was pretty great, until, the scarab. concept, amazing, execution, decent? i wanted to die after the scarab. you might be thinking "ah enemies right?" nope, "map design?" nope, "weapon/sandbox..?" nope. ittsssss checkpoints. i can't speak for the rest of the mission, cause i only died at the VERY start and VERY end. the checkpoints at the end are horrendus, or should i say, checkpoint. i went through the whole mission without dying, was really enjoying it, got to the tank at the end, aaand instantly died from the scarab beam as there was nowhere to hide. okay i messed up, try agai-! oh dear god i have to start from the beginning of the section prophets help me. i platform all the way back over, dont hop in the tank, aaand die by the scarab shooting through a part of the top of the pelican. okay, no biggie right? just replay again.

P1 not gonna touch on everything cause i don't have the most time in the world, but here's my opinion since nobody asked. (spoilers and stuff, obv) amazing mod overall, keyword, overall. i loved a lot of the map, i loved a lot of the encounters, i loved a lotta the sandbox around the area, etc etc etc. now that we know everything is a solid overall positive, negatives. the starting sandbox encounter area thing is a little tricky and wonky to do, there isn't anything i can point to and go "that's the problem" but it was decent just not on par for the rest of the mod. the brutes hiding in the cave was a little cheeky and annoying at times but i'll let it pass. (i'm going on the assumption they were supposed to immediately berserk like they did for me.)

As usual, like the others. tons of fun to play, perfect music selection and mixing, and just a good time as usual, had a stupid grin on my face almost the entire time! Can't wait to see what you have coming next! Possibly a flood mission?

I thought it was a pretty decent map. Played on Normal (would have switched to Heroic but I forgot), felt like I was slightly too squishy for that difficulty (might have primarily been the spiker's damage buff) and the brutes were maybe a touch too beefy (I may have gotten more high-ranking ones than Normal usually gives), but it wasn't that bad. Had some issues with the poor cover + closer-range weapon selection in the first area, and didn't care for the platforming part of the end, but it's not anything where I would suggest going through and changing the map just for that. Definitely hope to see you hone your skills and make even better levels.

Awesome! Small but neat! Played on Heroic and some parts were a bit easy but overall it encapsulated everything Halo; sneak, vehicle, firefight and more sections! Interesting to allow Spartan Laser-wielding brutes to spice up the mix. Covenant Carbine has turned into an AK-17 here. Brute with the Fuel Rod Gun on top of the Scarab was the bane of my existence.

I'd recommend adding some props of the Covenant setting up camp in roofed-over sections. Scorpion Tank section was a bit simple(also in the games), so maybe adding some preset deployable covers and a few of those Spartan Laser Brutes to bar the player?
