this is usually my solution to things, rather than making the weapons smaller, I think you're the first person on the workshop that has done it this way

Under individual dwarf's health->description tab. Broad and tall dwarves are slightly (2-25%) bigger than average, making few extremely big dwarves (3/49) capable of holding halberds one-handed!

Interesting! How might one determine whether a particular dwarf is big enough to handle the weapon?

Trial and error? Or is there an in-game description somewhere
