Do these new book titles provide benefits for dwarves and visitors which read them or are they just for reading?
Digganob 21 Sep, 2023 @ 5:30pm
Has "The [Subject] Revolution and Its Consequences have been a Disaster for the [Race] Race" been made a title yet?
La Creatura  [author] 20 Sep, 2023 @ 6:38am
@ipreferpi Thanks! Removed apostrophe in the new update (version 1.5)
ipreferpi 18 Sep, 2023 @ 4:24am
One of the titles is [Word] and It's Consequences. This should be "Its Consequences". No apostrophe for possessive. :)

Sorry no, that doesn't work. I have dwarves that are legendary at all kinds of topics and all they ever write are manuals. Too bad, I'd love mod that increases the % at which other forms of books are written. The best chance I get is if I create a new library and introduce dwarves with 0 skill, they are the ones most likely to write on random topics.
La Creatura  [author] 11 Apr, 2023 @ 5:55am
@mordmorgan I think form of the literature is based on scholar dwarf's skills. You can try to set dwarfs with Critical thinker skill in order to get more books about history.
mordmorgan 9 Apr, 2023 @ 6:46am
What about more types of books? I only ever rarely get a book type of short story, or biography, or historical comparison. Is there any way way to mod the the rate at which those types of books get written?

Spotted while generating a world tonight: "Gorlak-Shaped Mountainhome". Sounds like a fun building project. Thanks for these :)
La Creatura  [author] 3 Mar, 2023 @ 3:39am
@Nilserich It should be fine. Update will only affect the names of books created after the update, already existing ones will be unchanged.
Nilserrich 3 Mar, 2023 @ 12:42am
Does the update negatively impact existing worlds and playthroughs.

I've only heard that game and mod updates can be risky for them, but I can't judge that very well yet.
La Creatura  [author] 2 Mar, 2023 @ 5:02am
New 1.2 update should be available now! Thanks for your suggestions everyone

"The Stars Keep Me Up At Night" (a book on making star charts)
"My Friend Yells" (a cheerful, if average novel about nothing in particular, written in a dark pit)
"Trap Design Involving Tides" (a cheerful, amateurish book about tides, which mostly remains me of the old scheme of using water traps for mass-harvesting merfolk bones in previous DF versions)
"Victory By Reproduction" and a sequel "Reproduction: Does It Exist?" (both written by the elven father of 9 children by 4 different women)

Book titles are like templates where some part of the title is subject-related and other part is pre-made. For example: Start Your Day With (Subject here) or (Subject here): A Brief Introduction
So this mod's titles work the same as vanilla.
Digganob 30 Jan, 2023 @ 10:26am
So these are pre-made titles which have a random chance to be chosen as book titles or what? I thought the way vanilla titles worked is they were randomized sentences with key words related to the contents of the book (or perhaps the writer's culture).
