BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 10 Jul, 2024 @ 7:44am
@Meekjr as much as i would love to change all of it, i can't due to tmod limitations and me not having good design for better/new config ui
MiJune 9 Jul, 2024 @ 12:49pm
sorry for spammin' your comments, just some suggestions
PLEASE change it from comparing RGB to comparing HSV, it'll look WAY better for more complex palettes I promise.
let us use png files instead of the dumb config crud, I literally made a python script to convert from a .pal color palette to a full config file. ik there's a Palette.png but it seems to get replaced by the config every time for me, maybe change the folder so that it holds all the Palettes as PNGS as presets instead of having to change it every time. (maybe still be able to add em with the config for the little jimmies at home.)
also fix for 1.4.4 pls (::

works fine in 1.4.3

I tried disabling then renabling the mod and it seems to want to give me an epileptic seizure, good thing I'm immune
MiJune 9 Jul, 2024 @ 11:05am
it seems to generate a corrupted Palette.png file and then crash tmodloader?
using my own palette seems to either corrupt that png or replace it with the autogenerated corrupt png...
no other mods are enabled
also I'd love to see being able to have multiple palettes saved and to be able to hotswap em' (or even crossbreed em'?)
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 15 Jun, 2024 @ 2:51am
eh, essentially. there should be `AnyPaletteShader` folder in `This PC > Documents > My Games > Terraria > tModLoader`. There also should be auto-generated image. You can change it I believe, then relaunch tML, and enjoy your palette
MeeM 15 Jun, 2024 @ 12:57am
is there a way to add a palette through a file upload?
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 7 Jun, 2024 @ 6:23pm
@TheLegendofZach k, will fix sometime later
TheLegendofZachary 3 Jun, 2024 @ 10:50pm
This mod is currently broken after the recent TML update. Your screenshots look beautiful, though.

Thanks for the feedback! I found out how to access the file and how to edit it, I'll put the path here and how I assume it's changed?

This PC > Documents > My Games > Terraria >tModLoader >ModConfigs
"AnyPaletteShader_PaletteConfig.json"

Each string of numbers under "Palettes" corresponds to a color code in RGBA format, having something there to start with to copy and paste and edit seems optimal

With this I have no problems, a wonderful mod with a solid form of configuration albeit hard to find
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 14 Apr, 2024 @ 2:16pm
@schlep you can edit config file manually (if you're advanced enough). I can't currently add any sort of better config ui due to lack of ui design
Alonzo 14 Apr, 2024 @ 3:25am
My only problem with this mod is that it takes a long time to manually slide all the color values into place rather than being able to copy and paste or even just type out a value which would speed things up greatly, hex codes or RBG values, either or would be great to paste/type out but both would be a godsend, I'm not sure if you still update this mod but it would make bringing over larger color palettes a lot easier and a lot faster!
Alonzo 8 Apr, 2024 @ 11:08pm
Terraria with only mspaint colors rocks lol
LesserAlex70 2 Mar, 2024 @ 6:36pm
Thanks a lot!
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 2 Mar, 2024 @ 9:38am
yeah, planned to add soon:tm:
darkmaster472 2 Mar, 2024 @ 9:22am
Is it possible to add some presets? No matter how much I try I don't get anything good looking.
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 2 Mar, 2024 @ 8:22am
i updated mod, but without ui. just so mod works on 1.4.4
LesserAlex70 2 Mar, 2024 @ 7:41am
does that mean that you're porting this? Or does it mean something else?
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 5:54pm
The mod itself is mostly ported. Only thing left is UI
LesserAlex70 29 Feb, 2024 @ 7:10am
It only works on 1.4.3 unfortunately, and I don't know how difficult it is to port a mod to 1.4.4
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 2:46am
it should work just fine. im in process of re-designing and rewriting this mod so i wouldn't expect an update any time soon...
LesserAlex70 18 Jan, 2024 @ 5:06am
Can this be ported please?
Motorcar Enthusiast 16 Jun, 2023 @ 11:03am
FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE MOD...

just simply add more than one color using the mod's config

Stop asking
PaCaSan 29 May, 2023 @ 1:37pm
Hey, I was just wondering how possible it would be to make it so that you can type in RGB values? it would make the steps a lot less tedious, and would be quite helpful for people (like me) whose aspect ratio doesn't allow for certain values on the slider.
I love this mod, and would love to be able to use it more effectively, but I understand if it is not a possibility.
Sevis 10 May, 2023 @ 7:24am
@BasicallyIAmFox That makes sense, it basically only takes into account brightness and not color. I don't know how difficult it would be to make it select the closest color but that would be very wonderful. Even without it, it's still a very fun mod to mess around with.
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 9 May, 2023 @ 10:32pm
@Sevis it chooses closest grayscale color to grayscale pixel, that's might be why
Sevis 9 May, 2023 @ 3:37pm
I noticed that the way it decides to apply colors is just a little... weird? Like, I tried using the Pico-8 color palette, and the mod decided to make the tree trunks green and the grass orange? The clouds were pink despite having multiple whites in the palette, and as day turned to night all the colors jumped around. I even added the negative colors and it was still picking colors seemingly at random. Is this just a problem with more robust, non-linear palettes?
Doctor Miawoo 17 Mar, 2023 @ 12:44am
I really like the concept of this mod and some of the effects look really interesting with a limited palette (like the lighting in caves)

Something I've noticed is that it supports well monochrome and 2 tone palette but if you start adding more nuances the way it applies the colors seems to be more random than trying to apply the nearest color

Maybe adding more control on how the colors are choosen would be useful (like a tint / contrast / saturation control)

Something else that would also help is being able to imput text for the colors in addition to selecting them with sliders, that would make copying easier (even though tbh I have been editing the config file manually to test palettes

Last thing, it would be nice to be able to save multiple presets for easy switching

This is an awesome idea and I hope this can get developed further, thank for your work !
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 26 Feb, 2023 @ 9:59pm
ok apparently lospec doesn't lets to fetch X amount of palettes for workshop like design... ":|
Millie 26 Feb, 2023 @ 8:19pm
@FoxXD_ This makes sense! Thanks for taking the time to explain :)
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 26 Feb, 2023 @ 5:10am
@Ultima Fridge
the issue is that i need to somehow gather all stuff from it and visualize. might run into same issues as tmod workshop has
Millie 26 Feb, 2023 @ 4:23am
Hey! I really love this mod, thanks for making it :er_uwu:

Running off your previous comment about the pallete workshop, what if you hooked it up to an existing database like lospec . com? That way server costs wouldnt be an issue. I have no idea if this is doable or viable, just throught I might throw the idea out there in case.

Regardless, it's still an awesome mod! Thanks again hehe
WitePybro 23 Feb, 2023 @ 6:08am
Where would I find these default palettes?
Brook_aka_Soulking 21 Feb, 2023 @ 1:21am
How do i apply the colors to my game?
Garnox 18 Feb, 2023 @ 3:04pm
this might be useful: Pixel art palettes
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 8:27pm
oh jeez it might be a lil harder than i thought it would be...
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 7:11pm
alright. yall been asking for that so i will add default palettes :)
Bald man gaming (BMG) 14 Feb, 2023 @ 4:43pm
Awesome mod, my only problem with it as of now is that it is a bit tricky and time consuming to get a good-looking palette setup, while this certainly isn't that big of an issue, I feel it hinders the growth of the mod to some extent. My suggestion: perhaps you could add some form of default palettes to the mod? Maybe those used in the screenshots provided for the mods page, maybe add some the community might share? This could also help people learn how to gather a good assortment of colors, or for those who don't want to bother, they still are able to get some use out of this wonderful mod. Even without that, this is certainly one of the more unique mods I've come across, and one I'll be using for several worlds over the months to come, you get a big ol' thumbs up coming from me.
oliverrook 14 Feb, 2023 @ 6:22am
It makes it difficult when creating pallets more akin to SNES or GBC titles
oliverrook 14 Feb, 2023 @ 6:21am
@FoxXD_ I noticed that it sometimes doesn't select quite the right colors when choosing what pallete to shade. There have been much closer colors that aren't selected, both from a perception standpoint and a numeric one. I upload a few screenshots and link them here if you like.
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 13 Feb, 2023 @ 8:54pm
and yeah, i was thinking about making some sort of workshop which would be available just with the mod on. but then i realized that spending money just for server for such small mod might be too expensive.
BasicallyIAmFox  [author] 13 Feb, 2023 @ 8:43pm
@oliverrook wdym palette to nearest colors
oliverrook 13 Feb, 2023 @ 7:35pm
Additionally, an option that auto-sorts the palette to nearest colors?
oliverrook 13 Feb, 2023 @ 7:34pm
Could you maybe add a discussion thread for sharing pallet configs?
