Suggestion for Odyssey Archeankin. Give them vacuum resistance and their ability is to convert a small area around them into rich soil.
Vulkandrache 23 hours ago
Did their need bar drop low enough already?
TheTigsy 23 hours ago
How do you get a poluxkin to actually consume a wastepack, i've had it happen once and now they just completely ignore the wastepacks existence...and it doesn't seem to be possible to manually direct them to do it?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:52am
No, it's intentional
Feels 19 Jul @ 2:32am
I believe its an unintentional consequence of the way the birthing process is programmed, all extended race mods with unique reproduction have this issue.
TheRedPriest 19 Jul @ 2:27am
On another note...Harbinger Phytokin?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 19 Jul @ 2:26am
Yeah
Kaschey 19 Jul @ 1:56am
@Feels, I'm pretty sure it's an intended mechanic that their genes don't get mixed.
Feels 19 Jul @ 1:51am
also its impossible to create hybrids, even tho the genes are mixed on conception, after birts they always default to the base race.
Feels 19 Jul @ 1:35am
Considering how long they grow, and how large they look, saplings should give out a child, not an infant imo.
Deggial 18 Jul @ 8:49pm
With the advent of spaceflight in 'Odyssey', may I suggest that the saplingchild be made plantable in a planter box? Soil is hard to come by on a spaceship.

One could argue that phytokins are simply a planetary race deeply connected to their planet.
However, it seems unfair (albeit intentional) that they are forced to remain childless when an alternative could be implemented.
Perhaps growth times could be increased due to limited root space.
TheRedPriest 17 Jul @ 10:42pm
As other people have asked, any chance of getting a new phytokin based on the archean trees?
sleepy 16 Jul @ 8:19am
Can we get an archean phytokin that has 100% vacuum resistance :D
Dan 16 Jul @ 7:40am
Is it Biological or Chronological age that matters with progressive attunement?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 15 Jul @ 5:53am
Ability seems to be completely broken right now, will have to recode it from scratch
Who's Askin'?! 15 Jul @ 5:47am
Seems to be a bug with how the dryads' work priorities are set, submitted a bug report
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 15 Jul @ 1:41am
Yes
Beelzebob 15 Jul @ 1:40am
Looks like these pawns don't photosynthesise when in a caravan. Is that intended?
Omega13 14 Jul @ 5:36pm
One of my guaranlenkin (spelling?) had one of their dryads die (the other survived) and, when I attempted to summon a new one, it told me I could only have a maximum of two at a time. When I killed the remaining one and did it again, I got the same message. I *feel* like the cooldown probably was not up yet, but a few problems here:

1) If the cooldown was not up, there is nothing on the tooltip to indicate when it will be up.
2) If that is not the problem, I should be able to summon back up to two if I still have one remaining without murdering a perfectly good pet.
3) If the cooldown as not up, then the error message when I attempt to summon a new dryad should be corrected so that it tells me that I still have to wait, rather than that I am over my limit.

Anyway, guaranlenkin are super cool! Thanks for the mod.
Benitolaser 14 Jul @ 4:36pm
If I summon two more dryads will the previous ones be killed? I have 2 right now and am wondering if I can keep spawning more when the cooldown is over.
Reactormonk 14 Jul @ 12:05am
There seems to be a bug in the mod where Gauranlenkins can't resummon their dryads even though I slaughtered them because of lack of food. How should I send the save file?
Vanyor 12 Jul @ 9:21pm
@Sarg Thanks for the answer and for the mod anyway!

@Delmain Thanks so much for telling me! It's the [Anima Theme for VRE: Phytokin] for versions 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 so it's perfect for everyone! Again, thanks for taking some time to tell me!.
Delmain 12 Jul @ 4:54pm
@Sarg, there's a Q&A on this page that says "it's a low priority feature that may come in the future". I think that's why he asked.

@Vanyor, there's a mod that does that already. If you search for phytokin anima theme I'm sure you'll find it.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 12 Jul @ 12:42am
I don't think there ever were plans to do that with this mod. In any case, we don't code or design anything for legacy versions of the game. Anything new will be for 1.6
Vanyor 12 Jul @ 12:39am
Hello, as always, thanks for the mod.
Are there any plans to do the retexture of the Gauranlenkins to work with [VIE Anima Theme] or it still a low priority thing? Would love to see it in 1.5 since I don't have plans to abandoning it anytime soon.
Thanks!
the alien 8 Jul @ 10:48pm
archeakin incoming?
Hades the King 8 Jul @ 4:23am
"Why? You just got a weirdo" is so funny to me for some reason
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 1 Jul @ 10:50pm
Intended
Agent Q 1 Jul @ 2:11pm
Is it intentional for the phytokin child to share no genes with the father? I feel like there should be an option for that or something.
Gidwelion 26 Jun @ 11:20am
Hey, can you please add the options to disable or to tweak the chances of the phytokin quest appearing ? it being guaranteed each run early game is kinda stinky.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 25 Jun @ 11:10pm
Not an issue, intended
Agent_Anderson 25 Jun @ 6:11pm
Is it a known issue that the very clear father is referred to as stepfather?
Paladin Ranty 24 Jun @ 1:55pm
Ohhhh, maybe
ElysianEcho 24 Jun @ 1:37am
@PaladinRanty you have the vanilla expanded anima theme mod on, it renames gauranlen trees to be anima themed, it's not related to this mod at all
Kaschey 19 Jun @ 8:33pm
@RathfulConcepts, The undergrounder trait doesn't require a colonist to be indoors all the time. Also, what's wrong with it in general? Being born with some predispositions doesn't mean you're obliged to like them. Like, I a person can be born lactose-intolerant but still love diary products.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 19 Jun @ 7:29am
Why? You just got a weirdo
RathfulConcepts 19 Jun @ 6:07am
Standard Rimworld being Rimworld, and also using this mod for the first time. Got a Polluxkin from an event who spawned with the Undergrounder trait, making their photosynthetic gene useless. Is it possible to suppress that trait if a pawn has photosynthetic?
Paladin Ranty 16 Jun @ 6:01pm
Is there a way to have the Regular Gauranlen Tree? I tried to spawn a seed in, but it just spawned an Anima Nexus tree?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 7 Jun @ 10:51am
Nope, intended
NeutralQuartz 7 Jun @ 10:42am
It looks like you can't use IVF with Animakin, is there anyway to get around this? I have a gay Animakin pawn.
Kibbles 5 Jun @ 7:51pm
Got an answer to my own question, they do it automatically when they get low-ish
Kibbles 5 Jun @ 5:44pm
Does the Poluxkin consume wastepacks automatically when it gets low? because it's at 60 and I cant get it to eat any wastepacks.
mcdonald's special 27 May @ 12:45pm
@LeanWolf if you download tweaks galore mod, it lets you modify the chance for incident occurrence. This includes the Fleeing Phytokin incident, which by default is 0 as it is meant to only occur once per the mod's parameters. This will allow you to modify the frequency to be random at whatever frequency weight you want.
TickTalk 24 May @ 6:19pm
Seconding an Anomaly Harbringer Phytokin as mentioned earlier. Things like "Plant Harbringer Tree" Mood boost of being around a lot of corpses, Upset when corpses wasted (As in burned instead of eaten) Bonus to rituals if used as invoker. There's a lot to do there!
Kawaii Douchebag 24 May @ 6:05pm
I think it would be cool if you made it so that phytokin could get some sunlight from the psionic ability solar pinhole
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 24 May @ 5:20am
Not with these mods on their own. That's a mod conflict, perhaps with a facial animation mod
Community 24 May @ 5:17am
So I've run into an issue regarding this mod and a handful other of the xenotype expansion mods where the character will appear headless. Looking through the files I found that certain genes that alter the skin texture(Leather skin, Bark skin, etc) force the head to be invisible. The log for it states that it failed to find a texture. Unsure if others are having this issue or just me.
LeanWolf 12 May @ 11:51pm
One of my essential mods, love the race design/lore/mechanics, but the set day of quest spawn (35th day on the rim) kinda makes every playthrough waiting for the Solitary/Ambushed Phytokin quest and then winning the farming game (Moreso with Vanilla Skills expanded), is there any way to make it true random spawn? Love it, just want to make it feel a little more of a huge deal/game changer and not a check listed expansion for every single colony
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 12 May @ 11:18pm
What is that "father" thing you mention?
UnicornMan 12 May @ 10:04pm
My married animakin had a child and when it emerged from the plant it had only animakin genes with nothing from the father who is listed in the child's social as "stepfather".
