A lot of the placeable items tend to duplicate themselves when mined or put into inventory (You get two of the same furniture if you mine one)
Also a nitpick. The ladders tend to not work well with paints. There is some of the default brown color on the top of the ladder sprite that cannot be painted no matter what.
I hope this mod continues to update as I'm scared it will fall behind. This is not a bad mod at all.
Sure. I'm glad to get some help. Though if you mean the carpets, they were always weird, so no idea if they can be fixed. but if you feel like trying, sure, give it a try. and there might be a few other stuff too that can be fixed here.
carpets were notorious about doing weird things in the past too. sorry. I have no idea how to fix them...
I've tried using the "Stanley Knife", destroying the blocks where placed, and both using the knife and destroying the block, but they keep respawning, even changing the blocks makes no effect.
It's not game breaking, just kinda annoying.
Was just about to mention that the ornate cabinets seem to give two when broken.
Something i'll just have to figure out how to work around i suppose P:
I would suspect that you would probably have to rebuild some of the framework for these items. Its likely that something along the way changed that made the whole thing just not function as intended... That or it just never worked properly. xD
Thanks for the report. I noticed it too when testing them, these furniture are all grouped together some way, and it seems all (or pretty much all) the grouped furniture are broken right now. like wall clocks, etc.
No idea how to fix it, but I'll try to look into the matter - or ask around, if someone knows.
Example:
Palm Cabinet places Ebony cabinet. Ebony cabinet places Cactus cabinet. Cactus cabinet places meteor cabinet.
Breaking them gives you the original placed cabinet, and the one that was placed
So breaking ebony gives you a palm and ebony cabinet.
Thanks to @Cabe Bedlam who also ported their version of the mod and shared all the codes and explained about changes.
There are a few bugs, but hopefully nothing game-breaking.
Things to note:
- Some placed objects drop multiple of itself when mined back. I'll try to fix it in a next update, it's annoying, but it's not really game-breaking.
- tried adding journey mode research to a few items for testing, but most items still doesn't have it. will try to fix it in a next update.
- because mods now rely on localisation a lot more, porting it broke the previous (Chinese) localisation file (or so it seems). I have a safekeep of the old version, but my Chinese knowledge is minimal, so I don't feel confident in being able to fix it alone. if someone would like to help, it would be appreciated.
I remember Chad Furniture working fine in single-player, but in multi-player it was very buggy.
For example carpets worked in single-player, but not when running multi-player server.
- added wind effect and the "wobble-wobble" when player walks/jumps past by them, to miracle seed plants
- functional items have smart-cursor highlights (thanks to Cabe Bedlam making and sharing them)
- chairs can be sit on
- players can set beds to spawn
- fixed some sprites missing tiles like the placed eggnog
- fixed columns, now they can be placed even if there are no background walls behind them
- fixed kitchen counters’ merging
- fixed limestone ornaments (e.g. gargoyles) blending with limestone blocks
- added back the original, complex mannequin head, where the player can set the mannequin head’s hair style and hair color, but left the alt. mannequin head versions too, for more variety.
Thanks to Cabe Bedlam porting the mod as-it-was, and sharing the codes with me, I fixed many of the previously broken things.
added/fixed:
-carpets (did not test them thoroughly though, post about it if you see any errors with them.)
-alternative crafting recipes (e.g. pirate golden furniture set, dungeon furniture)
- Chinese language localisation - this is just a copypaste from the mod as-it-was, no idea if there are any errors with it, and can’t really double-check, because my Chinese knowledge is minimal. if someone can double-check, and finds any errors, please comment about it.
- dressers, cabinets, and wardrobes got their functions back (although they seem still buggy, but might be just some issue with T-modloader at the moment)
- blacksmith’s forge, etc. crafting station animations are fixed
