I seem to find that the zombies from this mod are stronger than the base ones

I found that if this mod is used in conjunction with the latest BMCE version, all of the "walking" zombies are male, but then all the scientist torso zombies you run into are female - due to the BMCE not replacing/overwriting the default zombie scientist torso. Adds a little variety at least, if less-than-perfect.

Best compromise right now unless someone patches BMCE to include the female zombies in the pack and maps.
