no, but I did do/have a tooth trap one at one point. I think there is a recipe that includes a cog or something that makes auto tooth traps... that break eventually... but i modded it to make the recipe cheaper and last longer.

I cannot remember it, or if I still have that code, and I've forgotten all my .lua so I'm planning on not writing for DS again

@hotmatrixx - Well I'm currently in RoG but it's on a SW compatabile mods only slot and it's working great still. I'm not sure if it might break eventually when I get to the SW part since I haven't done it yet.

SW? if so, you need to tag it because turning the SW filter on in the search filter excludes this mod

my script should not affect anything to do with the crabs behaviour, it's a very simple script, and basically all it does is swaps one line of code so that the order of the pickup and change of the item that is in a trap is changed. It does not affect or modify behaviour of any type of animal, or any state, therefore I'd say that it's something else that is causing the problem, or just bad luck with your random number generator. traps only have a 75% chance of catching whatever runs under them by default, at least that's what I remember it being when I was looking at it 2 years ago

It seems to be working fine so far although I'm not sure if it's a bug or if crabs just decide to come out of their holes whenever but it looked like they were taking their sweet old time popping out of their holes...as in it took them over half a day to appear on the beach. Plus one crab ran under my trap 3 times before it was finally caught but other than that it resets itself just fine

I won't be fixing that issue in RoG, sorry. I dont' play anymore, and my coding days are fairly well over. I might look at it if enough people ask for it, or if another modder sees it and gives me the adjusted line, otherwise, nope. I don't feel like reinstalling a game to scroll through 600 lines of code to figure out what's been changed.

Also, it would be very nice, if a trap automatically goes back when the player try to interact with it after the catch dies in it because of starvation (in RoG). Right now the trap goes back into the inventory, rather than going back to where it was set up.

@Kuldiin Klei prevented mods from running in Shipwrecked if they don't have compatibility flag set "shipwrecked_compatible = true"
When this is set in modinfo.lua mod works as intended.

With the mod on or off the trap stays in your inventory when looted. It is not placed back.

well, if you would be kind enough to try and disable my mod, and see if the new expansion pack actually has the correct automatic trap-in-hand behaviour now, as if they have changed the code to make it work how it should have in the 1st place, "therefore making my mod moot", Then my mod being active will actually disable it, So try it again, with my more disabled, and see what the behaviour on traps is.

No errors occur when the mod is active, it just doesnt return the trap :)

I don't even know what shipwrecked as, tell me what's going wrong, I might look at fixing it.
If anyone else has a fix, I'd be keen to introduce it.

I still keep tabs on these forums, I don't really do don't starve modding anymore

I'm just being honest with you here. If anyone wants to take this mod over, or at least give me the required updates, I'd look at adding them.

mod works great, makes farming spiders alot easier. is it possible to place a trap in the tipped over condition so that i can leave the area without worring about them getting used up while im away? i understand it'll keep things for two days, but i'd like their durability to stay right where i left it.

finally another mod idea, a repair kit for gold tools? because otherwise i need to carry a 100% axe and a 14% axe with me

or make it so that inventory slots are "saved" for specirfic items only...like my damn tools...and if that slot is filled with something else them auto move that item somewhere else and put my damn tool there
