I love this character very much. probably my favorite modded character (wavedash go brrrrr). My only criticism is the damage output. I actually think its way too high

Hello Nuion, I love this character and I wanted to ask if I could make some modifications to her. I only really plan on respriting a little bit, adding some new animations where some are missing, and making the umbrella compatible with the character style system. I know you gave another person permission, but I wanted to ask personally just in case.

Broken and not in a fun way. What's the idea being having a spammable attack that is medium range and seeks in on the target? Plus it's little delay makes it easier to mix more attacks into and it makes it a lot harder to read. Like Cryomancer, optimal combos look pretty boring but unlike Cryomancer, it's really hard to do flashy combos in general.

absolute garbage unbalanced character, some of the anims aren't even in and the ones that are look like shit

Design of Umbra is undeniably class, her abilities look amazing and when used correctly her combos look like a movie sequence.
She definitely isn't balanced around competitive play, once she catches you you're as good as dead, all it takes is 1 mistake and she can combo you to death. Really punishing to play against.

yeah sorta busted, lot of fast moves-- long distance, strong projectiles-- and then petal dance is like, unpunishable on a read? unblockable, undodgable from neutral on a correct guess

Very stylish character, but also very broken. If you just sit still and never approach, just spam pour projectiles, the threat of the big horizontal slash and the controllable dash alone check almost every main character's approach options. Fun to lab with, boring to play against.

Skill Issue

So Wind Slide beats every single option in starting neutral against Cowboy except Horizontal Slice, Pummel, and low block. Every other single movement, attack and defensive option gets stuffed out by Wind Slide, and those 3 abilities get stuffed out by Umbra's Swing, which hits earlier and further than Horizontal Slice. Was this character designed to be balanced against the Ninja/Cowboy/Wizard/Robot? Because some of this frame data is absolutely nuts against core cast.

Character has been updated. Teleport Slash balancing and Storm Stance is now not useless.

I feel like Umbra needs to get nerfed or something it is insane that I can use Teleport Slash 3 times in a row, and Wind Dash multiple times to carry someone across the stage.

@Ren that was probably before the new version, 1.2 the dash got fixed it was only bad for like 4 days before I fixed it. Also the dash has insane endlag, when you parry it, you are like +20 and can start any combo you like. its a bad move to use in neutral.

Played with umbra a while ago, felt like the hitstun was insane, I parried a move and umbra still was in advantage because of the startup of their instant dash move is unreasonably fast.

@Joryho I know, she is kinda lacking complex tools, but its my first character and she is a bit dated already. More upcoming stuff will be better! promised

Easily one of the best characters I've used. Super balanced and fun to play with, my one complaint being the lack of varied supers. Having Petal Dance and Petal Slap as the only two doesn't give you many options when you get higher super meter, not to mention Petal Dance is more of a knockback tool. The range on it is a bit small.
Otherwise? Really good character!

I haven't used this character much, but I saved a replay where I was able to just spam two attacks back to back. I'll play around some more and think of more ways to work this and get back to you.
