any chance for an update for 4.0 and on?
Draconia Empire 19 Jun @ 11:25am

this version removes the Stormchasers and Treasure Hunters origins in 3.14 for some reason
joschmo7 16 May @ 2:36pm
This mod was super cool when I messed with it before, but I totally understand the fatigue around it. Whenever I try to use it on ver.4, it crashes the game upon 100% loading . I'm playing on a MacBook Air M4. If you ever get around to fixing it, that'd be amazing, but I'm still leaving a 5-star either way.

@100xYGO like clockwork :Gems:

@nce1994
Thanks, that's great to hear.
Would also like to thank everyone else here who expressed positive opinions on for this mod.
Me updating this mod is entirely dependent on how much I'm playing Stellaris at any given time to be honest since it's such a pain to update (well, like any mod) and I cannot make a commitment to keeping it updated for any given version.
Basically my update schedule is "whenever I feel like playing with the mod enough to update it" :winter2019joyfultearsyul:
nce1994 8 May @ 4:41pm
I understand the fatigue, i hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears, but i truly appreciate the time and effort you've put into this mod, you don't know me but i spent many hours enjoying your work, so thank you. you don't owe anyone an update, but im sure you know that.
100xYGO 8 May @ 3:11pm
Doesnt work with Ver.4 ! (tested on 4.0.5). Breaks a lot of things!
rolfey1328 8 May @ 3:17am
Hey everyone I made an update of the similar decsions based origin mod for 4.0: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3477888880
霜糖大油条 17 Feb @ 10:31am
I know the author stopped update the mod quite while ago but I'm still grateful because I had a lot of fun with it, thank you.
Reyzel  [author] 6 Feb @ 9:42am
But yeah unfortunately the base game gets updated so often and this mod is absolute hell to update so idk if I'm coming out with an updated anytime soon
Reyzel  [author] 6 Feb @ 9:41am
I love how people keep commenting that it doesn't work with the latest patch :winter2019joyfultearsyul:
Like ofc not, it was last updated 26th May 2024.
The top of the mod page literally says "compatible with 3.8", aka most definitely not compatible with the current version.

warning:截止至2025.02.06 使用本mod会导致部分国家政体错误显示为 [通用帝国] 同时时游戏内生成的国家几率出现没有名字的情况
PalmsAreSweaty 16 Jan @ 6:59pm
I'm leaving this comment here just incase this gets updated. I really REALLY want to play the Treasure Hunter questline alongside my choiced origins.

However, I can definitely see the problems with conflicting events.
Victor 14 Jan @ 11:58pm
love this mod, it makes for a funny play thought, rn I am doin a toxic gods, there be dragons, and teachers of the shroud, before that it was a progenitor hive and tree of life 10/10 mod
exeki 20 Dec, 2024 @ 2:26pm
It's a very cool mod, but it doesn't work on version 3.14, since almost all empires don't have a name. If you can fix it, it will be very good.
victoriousdread07 (private) 20 Nov, 2024 @ 9:25pm
@Lulu yeah, I've been using both mods together. This mods civic origins are useful for things that can only happen during galaxy generation. The other one can easily add things after game start, like the dragon or the toxic god knights. I've been able to make some cool combinations.
Lulu 20 Nov, 2024 @ 1:15am
yes, you have to choose, there is another mod that adds some origin with edicts that works if you want both but very much work in progress
victoriousdread07 (private) 19 Nov, 2024 @ 9:55pm
Is this mod preventing anyone else from using the new origins and civics from cosmic storms in empire creation?
Paulicus 4 Nov, 2024 @ 10:02pm
This seems like a very useful mod. Thanks for sharing! I noticed when testing the necrophage pseudo-origin, though, that they don't get the assimilate purge option when taking the Devouring Swarm civic, as normal for necrophage swarms.
Lulu 2 Nov, 2024 @ 5:49am
I 100% get it, there was a lot. The last two updates did add a number of origins I would love to play without starting 50 times but If it takes time, or even if you never find the motivation to finish it, its ok. Thank you for making it in the first place
Reyzel  [author] 1 Nov, 2024 @ 12:35pm
@Lulu happy you like the mod.
it's definitely coming back eventually.
The rate of current updates combined with the fact that I haven't played stellaris myself in a while has led to very little motivation to keep the mod updated but I do intend to update at least the base mod at some point.
Lulu 1 Nov, 2024 @ 11:31am
It has become my favorite mod of all time, it makes so much content available, I really hope it gets updated.. I understand it may be a lot of work though, but would love to know if its going to be updated for the new dlcs, it would be so worth it
Geronimo98 31 Oct, 2024 @ 1:09pm
does not work with Grand Archive DLC, for some reason it disables portions of the DLC including the new traditions
Surik_at 29 Sep, 2024 @ 9:27am
Really incompatible with 3.13. Both player and AI empires spawn with "generic empire: generic fallback" government type, but most AI empires also spawn without a name, and get "synchronized" civics/ethics. In my first proper game most empires were hiveminds, in the second 6 out of 7 AI empires all had Inward Perfection civic. Those are some pretty lame galaxies, let me tell you :D
Drizzt125 20 Sep, 2024 @ 9:50pm
When you get the chance could you please update for 3.13? Thank you ^-^
David.Dragonheart 20 Sep, 2024 @ 4:21am
You may have to update this mod to 3.13. I've been experiencing CTD on galaxy generation with this mod active. Even checked by manually turning on/off Secondary Origins with my other mods, and only this crashes my game.
FelipeFeitozaAC 18 Sep, 2024 @ 8:11pm
The empire type is always set to Generic Empire when you choose your authority and ethics
Reyzel  [author] 12 Aug, 2024 @ 9:14am
Due to the nature of this mod and what it's doing, it can conflict with a lot of other mods without a specific patch.
Although if you load my mod before the vassals mod it should allow the vassal mod to work fine.
Not guaranteed ofc, can't even remember if it's up to date with the latest vanilla patch rn.
Ven 12 Aug, 2024 @ 6:52am
So ive been playing a game recently with your mod and another mod that expands the subject types, but i noticed i couldnt select anything other than protectorate or tributary. I looked at the conflict resolver in irony and apparently your mod is conflicting with it?
Reyzel  [author] 14 Jun, 2024 @ 7:32am
This issue will most likely be resolved when I update the mod
Liquid 13 Jun, 2024 @ 8:53pm
However, adding two closing brackets and deleting the last if doesn't seem to work.
Irony Mod manager doesn't give the error anymore, but I still can't force spawn synth queen.
I am not familiar with modding at all, so I am not sure what to do at this point.
Liquid 13 Jun, 2024 @ 8:51pm
Disregard previous comment about the second if block for id = crisis.7520. I was looking at the wrong txt file.
I think I found the cause.
The last code block for machine_age_crisis_events.txt from the mod files says:

planet_event = { <======= MISSING CLOSING BRACKET
id = crisis.7520
hide_window = yes
is_triggered_only = yes

trigger = {
OR = {
NOT = { exists = owner }
owner = {
has_event_chain = cosmogenesis_planet_pickup_chain
}
has_planet_flag = cosmogenesis_pickup_planet
}
}

immediate = { <======= MISSING CLOSING BRACKET
if = {
limit = {
NOT = { exists = owner }
has_planet_flag = cosmogenesis_pickup_planet
}
remove_planet_flag = cosmogenesis_pickup_planet
}
if <======= UNFINISHED?
Liquid 13 Jun, 2024 @ 8:30pm
After some trial and error, I can confirm that it is second origin that causes the error with synth queen. I didn't keep the game running past 2451, but I suspect that the synth queen event won't fire naturally as well since it relies on the same txt file. (Endgame year = 2400, crisis = synth queen)
Liquid 13 Jun, 2024 @ 7:44pm
I am having trouble force spawning synth queen, it gives me "Could not find event".
I am not 100% sure if this is the mod causing the problem. But Irony Mod Manager is giving me the following error about the second if block for id = crisis.7520.

Error at line: 3089 column: 5 file: events\machine_age_crisis_events.txt.
Please report this error to the author of the mod: Secondary Origins.

Error message says:

Note: The error occurred at the end of the input stream.

comradecrona 13 Jun, 2024 @ 5:14pm
@Reyzel Ok that makes sense. I didn't know about the upcoming patch tbh.
Next Evolution 13 Jun, 2024 @ 10:32am
@Reyzel
That's fair enough, but it does make synthetic creed basically unplayable in combination with your mod.
Reyzel  [author] 13 Jun, 2024 @ 10:10am
thing is, there is a new stellaris patch coming soon.
I won't update the mod only to have to update it again right after.
AFAIK it works fine except for the fixes added by PDX not being present.
Makes more sense to update it after the following patch, I will definitely not have the time to update the mod to every stellaris patch.
Next Evolution 12 Jun, 2024 @ 9:10pm
@comradecrona Well, yeah. There's been no update yet.
Still not trying to rush anyone, though. Just informing.
comradecrona 12 Jun, 2024 @ 4:51pm
@Reyzel So it's been a little while without any word (not too long but a few weeks). How is the fix for the new patch coming along?
comradecrona 9 Jun, 2024 @ 8:57pm
@Next Evolution Is the bug still happening?
Next Evolution 5 Jun, 2024 @ 4:07pm
The demolition of mega and kilo structures is also prevented by this mod. Any chance that update is coming? Don't mean to rush you, would just love to use this mod again.
Next Evolution 1 Jun, 2024 @ 9:04am
Yeah, they came in the latest patch
Reyzel  [author] 1 Jun, 2024 @ 8:06am
@Next Evolution thanks for the report, are these fixes introduced in the recent patch?
If so I'll just have to update the mod for the latest patch (should be quic)
Next Evolution 1 Jun, 2024 @ 4:42am
Hey, I love your mod, but I've found a bug. With this mod activated, the fixes PDX made to stop Syncretic Creed pops from losing their traits are undone.
Fren 31 May, 2024 @ 5:40am
same here, @SwiRuSowaty perhaps try manually deleting this mods folder and redownloading it to see if a fresh one works, because its definetly not an issue on the mods side itself, could be a corrupted file or bad download
MtvYoloSwag 30 May, 2024 @ 3:05pm
Using this with dozens of other mods, works perfectly.
Reyzel  [author] 30 May, 2024 @ 2:40pm
@SwiRuSowaty
if you are using the latest version of stellaris and you are not using any other mods the only thing I can think of is that this mod hasn't updated for you.
try unsubscribing and resubscribing.
SwiRuSowaty 30 May, 2024 @ 12:18pm
it isn't cause i turned off other mods
