There's no difficulty options for workshop maps so it's always around normal

btw to find cache #5 I had to load the scenario in the editor: That's an evil hideaway, especially since one cannot return there.

I could but I prefer being able to manually target fire specific bugs with the turrets as opposed to letting the AI decide it wants to shoot the furthest away bug instead of the one next to it :)

Couldn't you hide the controls by assigning the turrets to an allied, yet non-controllable AI player?

I just found the janitor and cache #4, still scouring around for #5.

Ya, thats intentionally in the game left by the devs. Can't really do much aside from ignoring it. Just changes the orientation of the guns but they still shoot ground, really janky :P

Glad the fix helped.
The turrets unlock based on the war support you have (caches found in the map) so to get 5 turrets, you need to find all 5 caches

I just cleared it. The increase in firepower is significant and makes up for the lack of stunlocking almost completely. Having more meat makes the tactic of running for it in the vents feasible.

The additional marines cause some blocking issues in the storage area though, but that is OK. Being ultra-careful and with only mild savegame scumming I could get through the storage area with zero losses. Going in a bit more gung-ho lead to me losing half the squad upon reaching the security room, but savegame scumming was not used at all.

Seems much better now, thank you for the fix!

Minor bug: The unlockable turrets at the end do not all work and the four (I think) ones to the left that do work have a strange button about changing the description to AA or such. I should have taken a screenshot...

i added a fix to help alleviate this issue, i increased marine count from 7 --> 12 and made them lvl 3.

I just tested it again to be sure that it was not a fluke yesterday: There is zero stunlock. It isn't remotely as what is visible in the video. The bug only needs some time to rotate towards the marines, then casually walks in and takes a bite or two. Sorry, this is unplayable.

A possible band-aid fix would be dropping two squads of marines in there.

I cannot re-enact what the video shows. It doesn't work like that for me since the warrior bugs are not stunlocked when fired upon. They just walk up to the marines and eat one, then die. Attack-move does not help at all, in the contrary, it even makes the first marine in the squad stop and block the others from getting into firing position. Moving back after encountering a bug around a corner only gives the bug more time to close in since it is faster. It is a total mess and the squad is decimated before even reaching the security room.

No stunlocking of bugs + slow movement speed = no use in running. I do not understand how this is supposed to work at all. Extreme savegame scumming can reduce losses when one knows exactly where the bug is and it happens to die a splitsecond faster when it has a small issue going around the corner but I doubt that this is how it is supposed to be played.

Sadly the devs nerfed the marines a while after I had made this map. Recently I adjusted for it and reduced the amount of bugs that spawn in ambushes but I can't put less than 1 warrior. A trick is to always move-attack, that way the marines can more easily deal with surprises.
Also as you can see in Milo's video, sometimes running is the best option :D

Hardly playable. Bugs camping around corners means that almost every encounter results in one marine dying unless the bug is 2+ squares away. Outrunning/kiting them is impossible because they can close the gap faster than the marines can run. Either I am doing something completely wrong or the balance is totally off. Please advise.

He kites through the vents but it can simply be done by being cautious and facetanking the tiger to out-dps it

Hi i played the map several times and this is my conclusion:

Even if i play with careful i will always die in the vents because i dont have enought members in the squad maybe that is why it feels not tested

i tried different routes and it always the same outcome
