All good
Grind down the small wheels that will pop up on the shock-absorber 1x1-suspensions. This will allow you to weld up the blocked parts. After you're finished, get into a control-seat and add the wheels again with the "attach wheels"-command.
You're right, I was focusing so much on making this whole setup space-efficent, that I totally forgot to take the bottles into the account. I'm uploading a quick fix to access at least the hydro-tank above the rear suspension. Thanks for pointing that out!
As for the batteries and the tank setup however, I actually prefer it the way it is.
Feel free to upload your modifications. I've multiple additional versions of this rover design and trailers planned and will upload them soon. But I'm also curious to see what ppl have come up with!
The only things I'm really missing are an exposed hydrogen tank port to recharge bottles and a small connetor (ejector) port for refueling (coming in Automatrons). With the engine you could exchange the large battery for 7 small batteries, 2 small hydrogen tanks and a small connector. I suppose it depends on how much hydrogen you have available.
I had some fun turning this into a straight cargo carrier (1 medium container + connector) which more or less works. I had more fun stretching the chassis 4 blocks and adding another axle. This turns into a very decent cargo carrier with 2 medium containers, a connector, a spare tire, a ladder and a lot of extra hydrogen tankage. I also crearted a 6x6 semi-tractor variant based on a design I'm working on built around the small connector with reduced Klangage. Would you like me to post these WIPs?
Not much I can do about that, unfortunately. Hangar doors should be fine, though.
Recommend you just cut the turret down if you want to send it through a gate.
Or just park it outside, as this is not really intended to be stored in a base, but to set one up.
Currently working on a barebones non-DLC version and the difference is significant
