There's someone working on a 1.6 PR and has fixed the compilation errors, but it still doesn't seem to be working: https://github.com/Zetrith/Prepatcher/pull/29 Knowledgeable coders should take a look.

@Freakonomicon First off: you're overreacting. Second: your assertions are incorrect. The performance improvements Rocketman brought were, in fact, integrated into the game. But what Prepatcher does is much more extreme.

The sad thing is that the game is pretty much unplayable without these performance mods. I run a mid to high end desktop. Before the update, my mod list was 300+ and the game easily capped at 360tps, 120fps with 10 colonists. Now my list is reduced to 180 mods and the game bottlenecks at 157tps, 30fps. The rimworld developers have all of these performance workarounds available to adopt into their code. You know, the people who get paid to develop game. Instead they're still going by "Mods will fix it for us". The QoL of the base game is laughable compared to what mods are enabling us to do. You know, I will never sit down and demand that a mod author updates a mod. But I will never not trashtalk developers if they refuse to adopt performance improvements into the base game that are pretty much mandatory to use if you're playing more than a handfull of mods

with the new update, trying to use the now outdated prepatcher mod will prevent rimworld from loading beyond launching the game.

Unfortunately, my understanding is that there hasn't been a Zetrith sighting within the usual RimWorld haunts in months. I doubt the mod is dead, we have the source code and Prepatcher is an important dependency to a lot of staple mods. But Zetrith might have moved on.

"Nor is 1.6 even released yet..." a lot of mods use the unstable version to start developing their updates, so this doesn't really matter. either way i feel bad for any modder who gets hounded on by constant asks when the update came out just over 3 hours ago. i just saw someone ask "mod dead?" on a different comment section.

Well... neither Prepatcher NOR Fish is updated for 1.6 to begin with.
Nor is 1.6 even released yet...

No clue why people here keep testing around with that if it should be obvious that this just won't work.

Same as blueflame. I'm also using Perf Fish, amongst Xenotype exporter tool and such.


We should probably keep in mind it isn't even updated, on the unstable branch, and that the mod author has his/her's own life.

But yeah, we all miss this 😂

I need this for performance fish, but currently when I try using it with 1.6 it causes all of the menu UI to not load.

Pressing space opens the mod manager, which is still in a preview state as written in the description. It's not relevant for any patching functionalities this offers to other mods, as a library.

External mod managers like rimpy or rimsort are generally better options compared to managing mods through any ingame solution

I am using Rimworld Version 1.4 and Camera+ Among many other mods.
I get a black screen when the patcher comes loads up, and have to ALT-F4 to exit the game at that point i'm stuck. Though this is ONLY if i hit space and have the prepatcher screen actually show up. But without that it's kind of useless..

If you've messed with windows security settings before, look into the known workarounds regarding ASLR. Harmony for rimworld 1.5 requires that for some patches, has nothing to do with prepatcher. Camera+ is definitely compatible and works

@cow of french if you encounter bugs, report them with a log after verifying that they're caused by this. Prepatcher stores absolutely nothing in save files, can be removed at any time to easily test in case of issues

All the mod does
Is reload the assembly with things loaded by mods prepatches

Its only used by like 3 mods and entirely for optimizations not possible without it

@FlamingLlama Thanks for sharing this solution. It solved my problem, and now I'm able to use Prepatcher again. Even other mods are now working properly. I can finally play modded RimWorld as I used to with 1.4.

Pagelist fix worked for me, and (combined with PerformanceFish, so I'm not sure which is the most impactful there) the performance and even visual improvements are MASSIVE

Okay, so for those with black screens: This post solved this issue for me. I was running this with performance fish, and only those two and got black screened consistently. After I tried this, it worked.

Prepatcher only functions without harmony because of a copy of its assembly being included. It's identical to the copy in the harmony mod and there's only ever one of them being loaded by rimworld. Keeping both is advised to fulfil dependency checks mods often include.

Load time differences are only possible when changing something else too. 13+ minutes are also not normal to begin with. About 200 mods take not even 2 minutes here for me

I think, combinate Harmony and Prepatcher in one mode list it's a bad idea for Rimworld loading time. My Rimworld with Harmony and Prepatcher loading 30 mins. With only Harmony or Prepatcher 13-14 mins. I don't know why. My debug log is clear.

@Xans please share a log for the failing to load game after verifying that the issue doesn't disappear after removing prepatcher. Helpful would also be a name of whatever this'd be conflicting with on your end.

Download this at your own risk. First time played and everything was fine, but second launch break game and it dosent even load, game just freeze at launch screen.

@Kemauri This stores absolutely nothing in save files and is in turn absolutely safe to remove from any game at any point. If you suspect it to be causing bugs, do that first. If that results in those bugs disappearing, please report them with a log on github. If not, please stop complaining in the comment section of some random unrelated mod to your personal issues.

DONT get prepatcher it WILL break your game. it broke like 3 of my saves(i had these saves for months and even a year before prepatcher)

could this mod be the problem for a 47 miute game start, i only added this mod and CAI 5000 + for of war and when i tried to open the game it spends 47 minute, this is not a mod error o a imputation to this mod, just a simple question
