I agree with the others, this isn't seen as cheating mainly cause of the fact that you're still there and actually doing something instead of an automated piece of software that helps click for you. This really is a great mod. The fact you can up the amount that can click however is definitely cheating, i'm just keeping this at 10 but whoever is reading this, then do what you want. You paid for the game, do however you please and whatever is fun for you :)

This is the best mod imo. Still have to physically click, but doesn't make you ruin your mouse.

Thanks for making this! This is exactly the type of mod I needed to save my mouse while still playing optimally. Obvs an autoclicker would get me more cookies, but I do want to play the game somewhat fairly lol

@harry0805 I discovered another way to trigger the permanent autoclick bug: on a laptop, click using the trackpad and a connected mouse simultaneously (I was doing that to cheese Uncanny Clicker). I'm not sure that's really even fixable, but just wanted to let you know. But anyway, great mod!

This has genuinely helped me so much; I used to play Cookie Clicker both in high school and college and both times it was RSI that caused me to put down the game. This is way better on my hardware and also my wrists.

nvm i just restarted until it worked again and managed to get the mod disabled

@SpringsTS I've had the same issue, do know a temporary fix or a way to be able to disable the mod? I'm very new to modding cookie clicker so i dont really know what to do and the bug is almost permanent for me ^^;

I've a problem with your mod when using it with some other mods like Game Manager or True Offline Production: when I try to open Settings page, the page is empty and the game crashes after some seconds.
In the console I get the error "UpdateMenu is not defined".
The problem is random, sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

@SpringsTS @Quellus Thank you for your reports. I have put out a patch that fixes the permanent autoclick bug, the autoclick should only trigger when you hold down the left mouse button now. If you find anymore bugs/suggestion, please post them here, I will try my best to fix/implement them!

I have on my play a very easy way to trigger the bug:
1. Press and hold left button on the big cookie -> Autoclick as expected
2. While holding left button, press and hold right button -> Autoclick twice the configured rate
3. Release both buttons -> Permanent autoclick at configured rate
After step 3, if I hold the mouse button the autoclick feature seems to stack with the bugged permanent one.

I also noticed that using right mouse button or even pressing the wheel is treated as left click and triggers autoclick.

@Quellus From my testing I wasn't able to recreate what you reported, I put out a patch before for fixing the Trigger Finger incompatible bug, in that patch I redid some of the code that detects the cookie, with that it should fix the bug that you are talking about, are you on the latest version of Hold Clicker? Steam should automatically update, but you can also try unsubscribing and then resubscribe. If this doesn't fix the issue, can you provide the exact steps to recreate the bug? Hope this helps!

Someone pointed this out a while back. On windowed mode it seems to be really easy to trigger a bug where it will continue to autoclick after you let go of the mouse. Not sure exactly what those triggers are, but I've triggered it on accident pretty consistently. Is there a fix for this?

Ok I put new patch, this I turned the the "Redetect Cookie" into an option, so you won't need to click it every time. Hope you have a nice time playing cookie clicker with my mod!

So there's a fix for your issue, first try and moving your incompatible mod down/up in priority, and see if that fixes it. I also put out a patch, which adds a new button in options that fixes this issue but you'll have to click that every time when you launch the game.

Here's some explanation to the problem, I'v looked into the Trigger Finger's code, the mod removes all the listener that is assigned to the "bigCookie" in which "breaks" HoldClicker. Moving Trigger Finger's priority will change the order of who load first, so that will hopefully fix the problem. But in my testing it sometimes work but not all the time, I put out a patch that adds a button to manually re-add all the eventListeners, so in that case you can press that button to fix the mod not working.

Just epic.
A mod which helps clicking without be too cheaty like autoclickers.


Just one thing: it seems to be incompatible with the mod Trigger Finger (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2788595456&searchtext=trigger+finger) .
When I have both mods enabled Hold Clicker does not work on the cookie, no matter in which order I put them.
As soon as I disable Trigger Finger, Hold Clicker works again.

As someone who genuinely developed mild carpal tunnel from playing this after going at it for months on end, I thank you for this mod.

I no longer feel the tingling since I stopped for a while but now I can come back to the game without having to sacrifice my health, which is a nice bonus for cookies I guess

Also, it would be great if you could update this so that it can work with Krumblor, too.
Another thing that would be a nice is if you made it so that the music actually changes from preclick to click while using this mod without having to switch from automatic.

I found a bit of a glitch, kind of cool though. If you have the game windowed or another monitor, if you drag click out of the game, click the desktop or another app then click the cookie it will automatically click and you can stack the effect

I think this disables steam achievements. most "autoclicker" things do so anyway. one way to check it - use it, and try to get speed baking
