Hi, no sorry :/ . Brutal Battles is way more "complex" than this simple mod. I'm not sure I could make a mod like that without some compatibility issues. Besides, I'm already very busy with all my translations.
SFO modifies most, if not all, of the unit size and most importantly here : their « Rank Depth ». The latter is what causing this.
For example, vanilla swordsmen of the Empire is « 6 » for this value. SFO is « 2 ». If you check in game, you will see that they will form 2 line. That's what this value does. (Really weird choice from SFO BTW)
So the mod still works but it's just that SFO changed almost all of their unit default rank depth. I'm afraid the mod needs a submod if you don't like their change.
Very easy to make but i'm not sure I'll have the time to do it....
That's the only kind of drawback you can see. I suggest to try it in custom battles to see by yourself. It really depends of the situation and the units. Nothing will break, abilities or Lance Formation work perfectly for example.
It's really up to you ;), you can use it how you want. Units responsiveness is the same as vanilla.
The only drawback is about "unit efficiency". Most of the time, a single line tend to be wrecked in melee, they really need to form multiple lines (except some monsters or bigger entities). Essentially because most of entities have only 8hp. If your unit isn't an Ironbreaker, be careful...
Missile units with bad aim are also less effective against stretched units but the AI never stretch his unit, so that's something only the player can use. Charging entities also tend to be a bit stupid when they don't have an enemy in front of them. They will keep running a little before realising that they are behind their foes (thought I suppose that's a good way to surround them).
Well, first: don't be sorry. I understand english quite well. It's okay
Secondly, you're right. There is a drawback. But not about compatibility. You can perfectly use this with any other mod.
I have yet to try Sigmar's Heirs or Lily's Bretonnia overhaul but I can tell that I never met a single compatibility issue with other mods. This mod use something we could define as a "general rule" for the game. He is very, very simple. Pretty much like "a better camera". It's very compatible.
Would you say there's a drawback like this?
Will it work with - let's say - Sigmar's Heirs or with Lily's Bretonnia overhaul too?
Sorry, but my French is "une grosse quiche" ;) Maybe consider a short English version in the description as well, doesn't have to be 1:1 ... Anyway: Je suis desolé pour mon francais. Salut frère <3
It works with every update.
