@Co-Kane No, you are never supposed to hold a gun like that. Trust me, I've been shooting for a few years, and I've done my research, I know every bit of infomation abour almost every firearm that currently exists.

You are always supposed to hold a sidearm with two hands. You are never to fire a sidearm with one hand no-matter what. Even if you held the sidearm with two hands while holding the sidearm sideways, it will still launch it's self into the operator's face.

So, to sum it up-

1# Never fire, hold, nor aim a firearm sideways. Especially a sidearm.

2# Always hold, aim, and fire a sidearm with two hands.
