Thanks robs074.. It was in the game I was having problems finding them.. Can you confirm at least one is 4 track? The only one I can remember trying was complicated, didn't look like yours and worked as a test ok until I loaded the save the following day and suddenly it din't perform the same.. I gave up on that one but, having seen your pics again I'm pretty sure that wasn't it..
I'm messing about with an experiment on waste atm but I want to remember to look this up next time... Thanks again

There shouldn't be. I don't fully understand how train DOs dispatch vehicles but I didn't set any length limit here in the buildings.

Hi, I built a version with four tracks and the distribution office sends me a train there with only four cars (76m). Is there a limit to the length of the train?

@testset go to the mod folder, open building.ini, change $ELETRIC_CONSUMPTION_LOADING_FIXED 1.0 - that should help

I don't think this is caused by this mod. You might be facing some electricity shortage during loading (it consumes quite a lot of power) or there may be another cause. You can also try setting wait until fully loaded.

I got a small issue with this loading station, it can't fully load a train with coal. It's always a 1/3 or 1/2 of total capacity, depending on number of cars. Vanilla loading station works fine at the same time

@Albatar83 maybe try the good old anti-youtubish approach of "de-linkifying" the link for the filter with literal "dot" and "slash" replacements :-) (a tinyurl might help make that easier to both en/de-code)

The link got deleted for some reason. In any case, I need a building that exists now. Anything else won't be much help. I still think I could shrink a big one like Huta Katowice to fit the game scale.

I think Huta Baildon in Katowice would be a nice size for the game, it was roughly the size of a very large shopping center so similar to your other large factories. But there's not a lot of material to use for inspiration. This link has some photos and a hand draw map. In the 70s it would be a mix of old brick buidings and newer blue steel halls. I'm not sure if that would be enough to work with :)

Actually, never mind about the steel mill. I think I've figured out how to compress it. I may make it in the future.

I doubt I'll ever make the "Spodek" :P

Do they include skins as well ?

If I'm not mistaken the huge real life steel mills include the iron and coal processing as well, and multiple of each. That's why they are so large. So to create a steel mill as in the game it would mean isolating which building is 1 steel furnace. But it's hard to find precise maps of old steel mills :)

Also I'd love to see Katowice's Spodek in game!

Ah yeah, I see what you mean, that's a good point about the smoke and workers. I think something like the car factory would be good, although maybe longer and narrower, as that seems to be the layout of a lot of steel mills. A built in rail connection would probably be the way to go as well.

If they were storage buildings, they couldn't employ workers and emit smoke. And that still doesn't solve my problem because I'd have to choose them somehow. Anyway, I'm still not convinced about making several buildings. It should be a single one just like in the game, probably a big one (about the size of my car factory) but still way smaller than the actual steel mills spanning over 3 km in one direction.

dragonflyer: I've made cement silos incorporating a cargo station. It should be enough, they are usually combined from my experience.

Yes! This is one that I've been wanting for a long time! To jump into the conversation about steel mills, which I would love to see, maybe the solution to make it multiple buildings in a way that makes sense would be to make new open storage buildings for coal, iron, and steel that match the appearance of buildings you might see at a steel mill?

I'd like a single building. If the production chain was more like aluminium then it would make sense to have many buildings. But right now we don't have any intermediate products, we input coal and iron and directly obtain steel.

Would it make sense to release several buildings that as a whole make up a larger plant. It would be slightly unrealistic if a player only placed one or two, but it could be the intention that they are all built 'together'...? Just a brainstorm!

OK, let me rephrase :D I can make it if someone will help me design a plausible steel mill. The problem here is not as much with modelling but with shrinking giant plants into something acceptable for the game which still preserves some sense... The problem with cement plants was similar until I found a plant with an acceptable size. Electric arc furnaces would be trivial to model but hard to balance, I try to avoid custom production chains because of that.
