is this possible?
Nope, it's not for admins (even though admins can use it for themselves). It's for everyone. It only shows what is on you. Nothing special, nothing hidden, nothing else except whatever is equipped on your own person.
It gives you an easier, more organized way to look for things, including a search bar so you don't have to sit there and scroll 15 minutes to find where the DayZ Gods decided to deposit that one item you looted.
If you hit the help button it will tell you the different functions (the screenshot in this page also shows those too).
Hopefully that helps.
Is this for admins only?
Yes, you can change the keybind to anything you want. The mod has its own tab under keybinds "SearchInventory". By default it's "O", but you can change it to whatever you like.
Yes, no problem and thanks :)
Sorry, I have tried to use automatic scaling as much as possible, but some aspects just look weird regardless on various resolutions and I don't want to keep pushing updates and playing wack-a-mole. I have personally tested for 480p, 1080p and 1440p resolutions. I don't have a 4k capability for testing.
Yes, no problem go ahead
I played around with a few ways to select a container and they all ended up being either too complicated or not reliable enough.
After my last update the mod will skip any containers which are not "valid" (meaning the lids might be closed, or they don't have space, etc.) and will lock in the first "good" container it detects in your player's vicinity, but DayZ decides what goes first in the vicinity
Multi-select and transfer would be very tricky to pull off reliably for many reasons. I can take a look and see how close I can get.
In the meantime, if you filter at the top by the item you want and select the "move to container button" you can just keep right-clicking until all the items are moved (as long as there is space in the container) The list updates automatically when an item is moved.
Hopefully that helps
It also helps take some of the burden off of admins when someone opens a ticket saying "I bought it, and the vendor didn't give it to me". I'm like: "Pull up Search Inventory and double check, I'm sure you'll find it (most of the time)...".
A++. Thanks a ton!
Players on my server can have up to 50,000 slots in their inventory. Finding anything in that inventory is impossible. This mod is a lifesaver for players and a huge time saver :)
I don't see how this mod as I have outlined above would be useful for admins.
This only scans your own inventory and helps you find things and potentially move items into containers easier. It's not my intention at all to lock this capability behind admin permissions. I have wanted something like this as a player forever and since nothing (that I could find) existed, I decided to write it.
The commonality with VPP Admin tools is the GUI look of this window and the preview pane(I used ItemManager as a template) , the internal logic of what this does is 95% different than what VPP Admin Tools does (mine is far far simpler than their wizardry).
My goal is for everyone on the server to use this to assist with inventory management, not just admins.
There are server-side mods only and usually the mod/mod-maker will indicate if that's a servermod and they are installed differently by adding them to -serverMod= parameter (you may or may not see this depending on your hosting).
I assumed by Dyson's question that he was asking is this is a client-side mod only or if it also needed to be installed on the server, hence my answer.
Server-side only mods, usually don't let the player interact with them, they are either adding some mechanic to the game, or they are adding structures, events, some kind of server monitoring/logging, etc.
Any mod which has a menu and usually involved the players to interact with them are "normal" mods. The vast majority of mods in the workshop are "normal" mods unless otherwise specified.
Hope that answers your question
No, this is a "normal" DayZ mod which means that it needs to be installed on the server and it will run on both the server and the client.
it needs to be included in the "-mod=" parameter of the server
There are no client-side only mods in DayZ.
I will add a proper introduction, vision and reason for this mod as I see it has caused a lot of confusion.
Also let me know if you want to discuss any concerns or feedback in private, I value your opinion.
Awesome mod, have been looking for something like this for ages, great job!
