@Fox I've already explained that the ported mod also isn't that good, and explained that I was practically done with this mod. I give everyone permission to take my mod and try to update it themselves though if they would like to do so.

Hey man, first of all I really loved your collection when I played the game before B42 came out

I've been trying to get back to the game lately. I've seen that the True Music mod creator is gone and your statement on it, but there's been someone who actually ported the mod to B42 a while back. Would an update be easy or is it still out of question?

for some reason steam refuses to download this, I download everything else in seconds but this download would just swirl on 0 percent with 0 network :( my network is completely fine and I reinstalled steam, not sure why its happening

As I explained at the end of my previous post, this mod is practically done as Build 42 ruined the way the mod originally works and would have to get the original mod creator to update it first and he hasn't been active since 2023 so it's practically dead in the water at this point.

that is entirely understandable.i was entirely confused in the fact it was missing but if the genre is not is Rock/Metal/Pop it make sense. although as it stands i love the mod pack and love to see a big update were you add a bunch of songs requested just all at once. of course i would expect you to be focusing on other things at the moment but that would amazing. amazing mod and cant wait to see where its going

Because I mainly covered the 60's to 93 for this mod originally but added requests that have requested older songs, this song in particular isn't the usual style I would have searched into as I mainly stuck to Rock/Metal, Pop and general hits from the 60's and up, granted this song did come out in the 60's it sounds like something from the 40's & 50's to me which I would have never found in the first place anyways.

As for adding it to the mod, I've stopped taking requests since the beginning of the year due to the games build 42 update as it killed all motivation for me to update the mod.

@ROSANT the Build 42 version of true music that is on the steam workshop isn't by the original author meaning that its coded in a completely different way from what the original author intended because Build 42 changed how items were spawned and implemented which is why so many mods had to be changed. The problem with my mod is I had whatever code the original author implemented and the build 42 version doesn't work the same as the build 41 version which is the conflicting issue and why I can't be asked to update the mod as its a huge pain in the ass to even do so for a sub par version of true music.

Does it not work if you somehow use it for the new version of true music? If I search for true music there is a build 42 version? So isn't there a way to add this mod to the new version of true music? I'm sorry this is just the best mod ever! It makes the games SO much better!

I'M BEGGING WE NEED THIS TO BUILD 42!

@Raz Sorry for that, I haven't touched the game in months so I didn't really know. All I know is Build 42 kinda demotivated me from working on this mod anymore because I know it'll happen again when Build 43 comes out which honestly idk if it's worth working on anymore as it'll feel like a waste of time and then we got a problem where the owner of True Music itself has abandoned the original mod that this is for which is a problem in of itself. Future just not looking good at all for this and all the other true music mods.

@Hikari Sakai Did you even read what i said? build 42 mp isnt even out yet so the fact i said that should have been enough to figure out i was on build 41. not trying to be rude but. i already figured out how to fix it

@Raz did you even read the mod name? It only works on Build 41, if you try this mod on Build 42 it will not work.

...So that's why I'm holding out til we find out more as it's too early to tell if the mod will easily be ported over or if it will be something way out of my expertise. I'm not a mod coder, all I did was convert music and import the mod, it was honestly easy but if the update ruins that then I'm pretty much fucked lol.

@Tesla_Magnum you can take my mod and add more if you want, I'm currently just holding off adding anything due to the game shifting to Build 42 and I'm kind of in a mental thought of "is it worth continuing updating this mod of it might not work in the next patch"

if I have to re-code a lot of stuff then there's a good chance I'm not gonna update it for build 42

for those who don't know literally all I did with this mod was already setup from the start, I didn't even have to do anything other than use the converter provided with the mod in order to convert the songs to ogg files and i guess it also updates some script files automatically in the process of it.
If I have to switch to a completely new mod then the whole process of adding new tracks will be completely changed and therefor the tools i use to convert will become useless as the script file will all be incorrect since B42 will probably use different coding.

Is it possible to add more music in regard to both of your mods please?

Just dropping by to say that while i agree with everyone else that 42 support would be great, I respect your decision to wait. All the people asking just means you did a great job with this add on. The process isn't hard on our end to fix so its not that big a deal.

@Jeff I'll probably wait for the stable build before making changes, for now I'm recommending people to use this mod with B41 for the time being

oh yeah no i got that its just that even though its not the og creator, that guys managed to make true music to work for b42 and some people got their addons to work with that port too - not sure what itd take coding wise but i thought itd be neat to have this collection in the new unstable, if only temporarily

but if not im willing to wait as long as it takes! o7

@Jeff if you've been following the conversation there's not much we can really do about it until the original creator updates it which is very unlikely as they're inactive and live in Russia which has a lot of sanctions and such happening. So I'm kinda in the camp where this mod alongside all other true music related add ons are dead unless someone with very good coding skills can make it all work again.

btw i don't code, all i do is add the music to the game which is very easy to do. basically this mod relies heavily on the original true music mod and if that mod doesn't work then we're kinda shit out of luck honestly. All we can do is wait but feel free to message scrappy coco to contact me about it I guess but from what I saw they are also holding out on the original creator to fix it but for now I advise to use this mod with B41 until further notice.

hey im not trying to come off as too demanding but could you make another copy of this mod to work with scrappy coco's true music port for b42?
it doesn't have to be this current workshop item specifically in case the og creator updates it but just for the meantime since this addon doesn't work for b42 atm <3

for me this mod does not work as is(your addon). I was also coming to comment about scrappy cocos update of true music. It seems to be in the infancy stage because of some bugs that are happening. He has mentioned his coding skills are limited as well. If you would like I could start a correspondence between the three of us to figure how to port each others mods correctly for b42.

True Music has been updated to B42 by scrappy coco. I havent tried this mod yet but he posted a guide to updating these to b42 in case they dont work off rip. Ill check if this mod works with the new fix tonight.

This question goes to everyone but has anyone tested this mod on build 42, I've not tried it myself so I have no idea if it does work or not but was curious if anyone else here has tried the mod on its own to see if it actually works.
If it doesn't then that's not good since the original mod creator has been inactive for well over a year or 2 so someone would have to take the original true music mod and try to port it but I don't have the skills to code so idk how to do it

heya there, first off you have to know that this is only an add on and not the main true music mod with the scripts and coding for how the mod even works so unfortunately that isn't up to me, if B42 breaks the main True Music mod we're pretty much all at the mercy of the original True Music creator and he's been inactive for over a year now so idk what we're gonna do tbh if it doesn't work on B42.
