I totally missed this because Im still without wifi at home lol
AI *everywhere* feels like its some SOG AI magic haha as I mostly try to keep my missions (very) linear but Im glad you enjoyed it despite too few allies!
It did feel pretty dynamic though. Like I could go off in any direction, and eventually encounter enemies. (And I definitely did, when flanking the village). It also felt like staying in one place too long meant patrols eventually come upon you, which is fantastic.
I'll try and run it again with some friends, definitely a fun one!
Recorded it, it got super intense near the end.

sadly I lost the files a while back but I (normally) don't place friendly AI besides the player squad (which shouldnt be too big as well) for a few reason. However, Ill keep it in mind for the future :)
if you can that would be awesome
Sounds great. Take your time before patching up the mission, though. No worries. And you're welcome :)
Thanks for the feedback again, really appreciate it. Keeping the last part balanced was pretty wonky I agree. Enemy AI either rushes along one or two lines like, well, bots OR they pick you off from the treeline while friendly AI doesn't find any good positions to hold and just wander around (at least for me)
I might make the enemy squads a bit bigger and maybe add another one from a different direction as well as snipers in the treeline .
However I either broke Arma or my hard drive is slowly dying as it freezes and crashes every time I open Arma with SOG active. So it might take me a few days to try these ideas myself and see if I can patch them in
Roger that, thanks for the reply. I will give it another go.
Another thing I might mentioned is with defending the hill which wasn't really, challenging? Not sure how to put it. Even alone, I picked out the enemies and killed them one-by-one with ease. Again, maybe it was in that moment the dynamic of the mission was in my favor, but maybe consider make it feel more like "last stand" kind of thing.
First of all, glad you liked it despite the hardships!
1. The caches are locating in one of the huts at the top of the cliff and directly opposite the ambulance under the shack/ roof near the bikes . Everything worked fine when I was testing the mission (a few times in SP) but I'll take a look at it
2. I thought about adding more AI but got the feeling it got too easy then, but I might get back to that. My playthroughs were pretty hit or miss as well tho, either no KIA til the end or I was alone before I reached Point Bravo. I might play around with adding more enemies/ bunkers on Hill 184 but also give the player AI artillery after clearing Bravo
3. Yup, had that too, thought I fixed it by giving the waypoint a timer but turns out they still prefer to skydive without parachute. But tbh as long as one guy reaches the trigger (alive) it looks a bit goofy but still fine by me
1. I managed to locate only one wpn cache. The other potential cache was near the ambulance but I couldn't really figure it since the objective wasn't completed. I searched everywhere plausible in the village but no joy. Either I was blind or there's a technical issue with the task.
2. My squad (as AI) was ultimately killed I reached 184, though I managed to capture it by myself. Since the vanilla AI is crap, I would suggest adding more units to your squad just to, perhaps, remain with some firepower at the end, especially in the dense areas.
3. When the reinforcements arrived, one of helis (the one landing to the west, iirc) landed and immediately took off with the soldiers still onboard, yet they decided to go for a free-fall while disembarking mid-air.
So technically I "finished" the mission, the only task still going was with the caches. After capturing 184, I even turned back to try again to locate the cache but couldn't find it.
