secondary texture looks like sesame seeds without normal maps

It looks just a tad bit too realistic for tf2, and it needs a blu version. The blue variation could use a silver color instead of just blue

Ok, here is the problem I have with it. It looks good... On the red team. The biggest issue is that it sides a little bit more with red team, and wouldn't look great on a Blu merc

I agree. Base texture is good, but the other layers need improving. GL.

Roblox throwback, but it doesn't particularly have a clear flow, the two textures clash.

I personly dislike the secondary texture still looks otherwise nice

really ugly. sorry no. just plastering a brick/metal poorly on a gun....kind of sucks. good effort if genuinly made it yourself.

Update to my previous comments, I have mistaken "Metalized Sould" warpaint with "Kiln and Conquer". I don't like Kiln and Conquer still, way too busy compared to Ironworked.

Speak your truth, my friend. Any and all feedback is welcomed.

I personally think the orange metal texture is slightly too raw and detailed, maybe it's because of the size of the bolts or the sharp 3d element. The transition between the 2 textures feels off, like they are clashing with each other (not necessarily color wise). I would dare saying the warpaint doesn't have enough things to grab my eye interest.

I want to make it clear that you shouldn't see it as a review because I'm only pointing out tiny things that felt off to me, as an amateur player, I am by no means an experienced warpaint enthusiast.

Now I know what I didnt like, I dont like Uranium for that reason, I just dont like the texture there, but here it is well balanced, the texture with the other texture, also I find that color scheme more fitting. So it all covers the problem for me.

I consider Kiln and Conquered one of the better warpaints we've gotten in recent years, so to be compared to that is a compliment in disguise. Hell, it can just be a non-spooky Kiln and Conquered if you wanna call it that.

Wont deny it's similarities at all, it's definitely there. It's mostly a mix between Uranium and Kiln and Conquer.

Grene, TF2 community is filled nowadays with clowns, compared to 2014-2017.

Funny enough to compare it to Kiln And Conquer, which is far more busy, the texture looks way too random, as if it just got slapped on. Overall Kiln And Conquer is a busy mess, it doesn't fit tf 2 either. As for this skin, it looks great, there is something off about it, either the way too bright orange, or the textures, but I could ignore it, it is not that big of a problem I think.

This looks way too similar to Kiln and Conquer
Stwitch 2 Mar, 2023 @ 2:58am
This looks like a downgraded Kiln and Conquer 2/10
Sangunesa de Milanguche 1 Mar, 2023 @ 5:34pm
You could make a BLU variant so that the metal ISN'T rusty, and it's just cool dark blue metal

Feels quite biased toward red. Make it slightly more yellow and it's fine. If not that then team color.
PoneD 1 Mar, 2023 @ 1:40pm
Not my cup of tea honestly. Not a big fan of stamped metal textures.
Wingzzzzy 1 Mar, 2023 @ 12:53pm
Well Grene it's because people hate zesty that much that they will even give the clown award to something he helps to make.
Greeb 1 Mar, 2023 @ 10:48am
Why is this getting clown awards this isnt even bad??

The molten area between the metal plates doesn't read great as such, IMO. could use an extra glow around the edges. Just sort of looks like copper. otherwise, neat war paint

Continuing with that in mind, if you generate a whole new texture for the in-lay and use it there--you could use that new texture as the aforementioned custom albedo (if the averaged colors don't branch too far out and rely on the alpha texture for it's differentiation in and of itself).

Coolest part being that either the copper OR the albedo colored textures would work with the same method~!

That being said--even if y'all don't end up changing anything else about it, I wouldn't hate to see it in-game!

7.3/10

The copper in-lay itself feels nice, and I believe you were wanting it to seem behind the steel plates (which a glance at the alpha channel could prove that hunch, I'm sure).

However, I feel that'd work better if the custom wear was also the same copper texture/color.

Otherwise, I'd have the grey/washed out colors of the albedo textures there (not actual albedo, just the colors).

You could put the same texture alpha from the non-treaded part of the treadplate texture--alongside the albedo texture of a single color gradient's color scheme as the in-lay--to create an underlying base that would take the place of the in-lay--giving a feel of consistency throughout it!

I enjoy looking at this one! It's a tried and true color scheme (that nobody's gotten into the game with for some f'n reason) with a texture type we haven't seen since the Treadplate Tormenter SMG (which I still believe deserved a Mk.II).

I'm personally not a fan of the copper in-lay on the main steel plate texture, as well as the texture itself being a light grey --> dark grey gradient being easy to see between the sheets.

I would take the panels in the background of the main texture and make them seamless as individual files, as to pass for individual plates being attached onto the weapon base--aiming the current 'step-by-step' pattern of Gradient->Bolts->Copper Inlay--into a more 'applied' feel (with the steel plates and treadplate plates seemingly being set on top of the weapon--rather than the gradient.
