No reason it wouldn't, the functions I change with the mod were not updated by the patch. This game's mods don't break often, most of the major updates that were going to release already did years ago.
I've recently gotten more busy and in my free time play Avorion less at the moment so I keep my mods up to date but don't actively add new features often.
What enhancement do you suggest for that command? I can always have a look.
Yes, it doesn't touch the calculatePrediction function which my mod changes. I used it myself alongside this one too.
Scout command fixes + improvements
The hotfix didn't touch anything related to the mod, so nothing I need to touch this time. It'll work as before.
After all that good work, just one thing and back to start. lol
It'd be best to test the mod alone, after resubscribing to make sure the files aren't damaged/altered, as it works on my end.
I just tested it, it works fine. There hasn't been any game updates since which could break it either.
Are you sure your ship is capable of salvaging? It will display blank values if not and say at the bottom right "No Salvaging Possible"
If that isn't the case it may be a conflict/corrupted file and I'd suggest unsubbing and resubbing the mod plus running it alone to test.
I laid it out fairly simply so it'd be easy to modify later. If you have a glance about 4 comments below yours, you could follow a similar process to tweak the values to whatever you're comfortable with for whichever command you feel is too much.
The mod seems to still be working from the little i tested I did get more systems though not more ore. Either way dicided it wasn't for me.
Happy to help!
Oh my god, thank you so much for the fast response, you made my day! <3
If you're playing solo it's pretty straight forwards as I laid it out in a way that it's easy to modify later. For MP it'd be more involved as it'd need to be sent to the other players.
Go to the mod folder located at:
steamapps\workshop\content\445220\2941426377
Open the scoutcommand.lua file located here:
2941426377\data\scripts\player\background\simulation
Edit the following line:
local DURATION_REDUCTION = 0.5
This is just a multiplier, so 0.3 = 30% of the usual time.
Just bear in mind that if you make it too fast you may trivialise the game somewhat and may end up ruining your own fun. The game is designed for you to have multiple ships so that you have some scouting and doing other tasks whilst you focus on more important things.
Thanks for the mod!
Is there a way to reduce the scout time further?
Even with this mod having to wait 38 minutes to scout with a tier 3 scout and ship with every module that helps with it is just kind of abysmal
You can probably just delete the mod and it'll be redownloaded from the updated workshop files.
Let me know if anything doesn't work as expected, I don't believe the update touched anything I modified but sometimes I miss things.
Just retested it to be sure. Works fine for me locally and on a hosted server.
You may have a mod conflict.
What traits did the commanders have? They can role different ones which help and affect chances.
If possible, sending me your save would help so I can test it and any needed fixes myself.
I've been having trouble getting the escorts effect to be modified, I'm not sure if there is some code hidden from the script API which affects them at the moment and need more time to investigate the escorts, if it's possible at all currently.
Changing the chance is the easier option but buffing escorts is probably better as they'll feel more balanced. I can put a modifier for the overall ambush chance in there too as I already did that, people can change it who want it but I'll leave it at vanilla settings by default.
it'll just stack and end up being 0% ambush chance with only 1 escort. Which already happens with 50% less ambush chance and no modification to the escorts yet in my tests.
So would you guys prefer better escorts or just a % less ambush chance?
@Shroomy Yep that should be doable, I'd probably make that another seperate mod to make it so people don't have to have all this other stuff too. Would you want ambush chance to be lowered, or for escorting to be more effective?
