Very quick question when your able to update this mod to 1.6 if we was to add it to a saved game would you be able to add a feature to reset the map to hidden? Additionally would there be the partial fog of war as well?

Thanks for your hard work, I expect this will take some time. I looked at the mod and map layers and it looks much more complicated than the previous approach - particularly with there now being multiple planetary layers to cover planetary orbit, rather than just the single MapLayer that was in 1.5 and before.

I mostly just update on the change notes at the top.The mod is mostly feature complete from the past Rimworld versions, but 1.6 seem to have open up new directions for this mod to expand. For now I am focusing on getting the mod working again.

After a preliminary look, they seem to have done an overhaul to the world map code. This is going to take more rewrite than previous versions.

I'm amazed that fog of war still isn't part of the base Rimworld experience. Maybe it represents too big a change and Tynan is afraid of dividing the community, so the alpha gameplay has become ossified, but I for one can't play Rimworld without this mod and the Real Fog of War mod. Fog of War would have been a great addition to Anomaly. How can you have horror without mystery?

Apparently this mod causes pawns to attempt to put babies in their cribs but they just stand there til the point of exhaustion and starvation.

A strange quest named "Silver Ore Space Rock" reveals the world map but doesn't show any unknown faction bases.
But after that, debug mode receives a lot of errors. I believe the revelation should not happen.
I'm currently countering the problem by disabling such quests with the "Incident Disabler" mod, but I have to save more often than before to avoid world revelation quests.

I wish there was an option to make map properly load in map creation.
Currently, all terrain features are visible when the option is checked in the settings BUT I cannot see any settlements.

Also in combination with Map Framework mod, the map overlays are only visible on the tiny patch of area that I click my mouse on. Annoying.

Also please add Save Our Ship 2 functionality... there is no reason to be not able to see everything when your ship is flying in literal space, please?

But otherwise very cool mod!

I love this mod, I play nomadic groups all the time. The only thing I would prefer to be different is having the ability to share vision with allies on or off. Once you make peace with too many people it can trivialize having this mod at all.

FPS seems to drop when an airborne vehicle reveals new parts of the map. ~600ms spike.

Rimnauts 2 doesn't seem to be working this this mod. Relay satellites are up but fog of war is still present.

This mod is very good and would be amazing ifd:

could adjust range of sight setting to from what it is now either x0.5 to x3 or so.

Maps were more commonly purchasable.

Huh, that's weird, probably a mod interaction somewhere... But since it should be intended behaviour, I'll poke around in dev mode and the options to see if there's a tool to reveal the map but keep fog of war

I'm thinking to increase the frequency of maps in the mod for myself. As being a tribal trying to scrape out a living in two years on the Rim I know of only one other local place and they are hostile shits.... My girl needs to catch a break.

@Dizzy Ioeuy An alternative is to recruit pawns with a chance of revealing nearby settlement. But yeah map are entirely random.

Pretty cool mod, but when I get a map from a wildman... maybe the city revealed could be NOT HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD!!!! LOL

How do the Rimnauts satellites interact with the world map? I've got 4 of them up now, and no additional tiles have been revealed... Did I miss something somewhere?

Is it possible to make it so that there is no black fog covering the planet, thus less performance issues, but faction settlements are hidden and require mechanics in this mod to find them?

Fog of war in this case refers to only the semi-transparent tiles not the unexplored tiles.

Because air vehicles only updates its tile position when setting out and landing, the patch is needed to constantly check the closest tile during flight. Not optimized right now.

Hello. Is there any reason for this patch to be so high? I don't even have any vehicles yet, still on medieval tech level. Playing on 30% world coverage.

Have a problem when using this with "My Little Planet" and trying to make a TINY planet, then it throw som errors and the fog of war don't go aways if i click a tile.

You can't generate a new world and try to edit it with this mod on, the "turn on world vision" thing is only in dev mode which isn't even on the options when planet is generated
