There's already a mod that restores it, another that disperses it, and I made a mod updating it's UV maps:

Just updated this and finished the horse lopper integration, as well as fixing the flayed sabre mesh.
Make sure you delete the previously generated ui icons for the flayed sabre, located in your kenshi folder:
Kenshi\data\icons\

You can even delete all icons within this folder to allow the game to remake all of them

That's so kind of both of you to say. Thank you. I just figure making minor updates are easier for me with individual mods for each thing, especially how weapon mods are added to many npcs and other lists, in retrospect. The armor mods would be alot easier to pack and I rarely go back to experiment with these settings, so that would most likely come first.

I second @Dr. Igor Dolvich's idea. All your mods are so high quality it's very hard not wanting to subscribe to all of them. A mod pack would make it easier to sort and even do minor patches if needed.

Your armor mods are great, added those to my collection as well lol

For the editing / merging, I think most mod authors just end up creating a pack and editing that directly as opposed to maintaining all of the legacy versions of their weapons, etc.

I suppose if you ended up continuing to mod Kenshi, you could always just make a "Trinity Pack" or something and just add new armors and such to that. Especially since you've created so much at this point (thank you again, very good high quality stuff you've made).

that does seem like an undertaking. I was thinking if it was like that then I'd wait until I tested it all and got a good feel for it since idk what most of it does, but then I just stopped playing and took a break. Might not be for some time until I play again, but I guess I'll mod every now and again like that armor I did for absolutely no reason

No problem, might tackle it in the future then, thank you for permission. With merges, I believe you'd essentially have to re-merge after an update to the base mod to pull any new information, or manually enter the new information (cut dmg 1.25 vs 1.15, etc.).

yeah, but i haven't yet, you can if you want, you'd just have to keep it updated. I don't know much about merging mods so idk if you'd even need to update it

the flayed sabre is the vanilla one, so if there's something changing it, it'll be kinda hard to find. I'm not sure how to do this well. I still have a mod that changes all the vanilla female turtlenecks into a neckless blouse, I have no idea what to do to find it.I'd just put this maybe on the top, before everything. Then, if that doesn't work, you can make a patch mod, one that relinks the flayed sabre's meshes with renamed versions

after looking into it some, the broken animations were due to a broken armor mod. but the flayed sabre model still just shows the desert sabre instead.

The weapon animations appear to be broken, and the flayed saber only shows the desert saber model. Is this a conflict with another mod, or are the weapons just wonky?

yep, thats the one, i checked it, it seemed off when i tried it. it was the one that seemed MOST like the "skinless" ones, but it still wasnt it. the orange was too colourless. once again, thank you very much, i really do appreciate you doing this.:praisesun:

ive also sifted through the vanilla textures, ive only found one that is similar but it wasnt it. i know how to apply textures into manufacturers and put it in game. for instance, in my game i tried all the textures by just replacing the MK I Skeleton Smiths texture and putting in whatever texture i wanted to check. as far as i know, its not there. or maybe im blind.

I'm sure one of the vanilla textures is that skin, you'd just have to find it and make a manufacturer or add this to one of the existing manufacturers. Then once you spawn someone with that manufacturer and the weapon you want, he'll have that skin or a chance of that skin. Also, you can replace vanilla files like source games, just mimic the folder path to the texture you want to replace and name your file the same as the vanilla file. There doesn't need to be any chances in fcs to do this and your skin will replace whichever skin you told it to override. I can try finding it and adding it to my Common Smiths mod

i do have a question though, how do you apply the "skinless" weapon texture to weapons? the one with orange-brown handle.
