It should.
In the new hl2 leaks the original texture of the grenade's world model is present.A small red light would be glowing on the top of the grenade,but because the texture didnt included or corrected in the final game,the grenade is fully bright.The VMT still has the selfillum parameter.
Im pretty it wasnt used because the Crowbar would have needed to be re-UVed to have the newer texture match the worn edges, which Valve didnt bother to do, my evidence being how screwed up the head UV is compared to the outdated wireframe in the repo, also means its probably not how it was envisioned to look as it is in my addon but, model would need to be modified and then it wouldnt work with reanimation mods so... not restored enough tbh,
@Nebo Strelok ☢: Huh. That's interesting but I'm guessing Valve thought the older texture looked better.
Speaking of, astounding it took over a decade to "fix" the trigger area on the magnum worldmodel, I'm curious why valve just reused the HL1 mesh with zero polish.
If you want to use any of these textures, just give credits.
