The production bug is still an issue on the updated one.

@Gabe Newell, Okay awesome thanks! Excited to start back up, I'm installing Civ V now onto this computer, but I think I'm going to be playing Terraria more often in the upcoming days though but I'll keep in touch over the mod if I come across anymore bugs while I'm playing.
Gabe Newell  [author] 22 Oct, 2014 @ 5:42am
@ZAT0002, this patch is no longer required, the original mod is now being updated. I have kept the mod up just for people to continue their saves and I plan to remove it from the workshop soon.

@Gabe Newell

My computer broke soon after I brought these issues up. I'm on a new computer now and I'm not sure when I'm going to start playing Civ again, but I'll let you know when I start messing with it again if these issues persist.

I cannot make scouts (direwolf pack) and soldiers auto explore
Gabe Newell  [author] 17 Aug, 2014 @ 5:27am
@miko, sounds good :)

I've had a quick look into how EU works, I should be able to add the code for custom civs but I don't have much free time to do it currently.

To set one of the GoT civs to use the art of a vanilla civ simply go to "C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\A Mod of Ice and Fire (BNW) Unofficial Patch (v 5)". In that folder there will be an 'xml' file for each civ which can be opened in notepad. Replace the text between the 'ArtStyleSuffix' tags with the name of the civ you wish to use (e.g. for the Starks using Germany change the text from '_EURO' to '_GERMANY').

If you want to test out your modified skins then you can overwrite the existing ones in the EU mod folder.

When I get time I'll try and make it so that the GoT civs are assigned their own art so that existing EU skins don't need to be overwritten.

@Gabe Newell

I was kinda hoping that Sweden uses different skins than Denmark.:\
But it seems that changing skins on some civs will be inevitable. I can start working on them tomorrow, it won't be hard i believe.

The North - German skins. (Cavalry reskinned, and reskinned Danish Longswordsman)
Free Folk - Denmark (reskinned)
Riverlands - Vanilla
The Vale - Vanilla
Iron Islands - Denmark (reskinned)
Westerlands - England
Stormlands - France (reskinned)
Reach - France (reskinned)
Dorne - Songhai and Persian Knight
Dothraki - Huns
Targeryen - Byzantium (reskinned)

Let me know if you have any other ideas.:)
Gabe Newell  [author] 17 Aug, 2014 @ 2:55am
@miko, here are those screenshots. [dl.dropboxusercontent.com]

Poland and Portugal both use vanilla units until late game so screenshots weren't needed.
Gabe Newell  [author] 17 Aug, 2014 @ 2:50am
@Unemployed, I can't find those files, sorry.
UPLDi 17 Aug, 2014 @ 12:48am
@Gabe Newell
I know how to fix it.
I've just need this files

UnitPortraits45_DLC_02.dds
UnitFlagAtlasWhite32_DLC_02.dds
UnitPortraits64_DLC_02.dds
UnitPortraits80_DLC_02.dds
UnitPortraits128_DLC_02.dds
UnitPortraits256_DLC_02.dds

Could you send them to me by skype or smth else?
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:08pm
@miko, I'll take those screenshots for you tomorrow (I'm about to go to bed :P).

I should be able to change individual skins for those with a few skins that don't fit.
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:00pm
@Gabe Newell

As for the ones I found proper match:
The Westerlands - England
Iron Island - Denmark (it should be good)
The North - Germany (almost all skins are fine except for the Knight the Horseman and the Longswordsman-> they use teutonic skins)
The Stormlands and the Reach could both use reskinned French or Spanish skins.
Dorne - Songhai units fit well, and for the Knight I think the Persian Knight skin fit in colors.
Dothrakii - The Huns, definetely the Huns.:D
Targeryen - In Asoiaf they only use Unsullied, Dothrakii, and mercenary units so I can't really decide what to do in their cas.:\
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 3:54pm
@Gabe

I made a quick list, but a could not ind pics from all of the EU units. So if I may ask you could you make screenshots from a few civs units please?
I would take a look at the following civs:
Austria
Babylon
Byzantium
Denmark
Netherlands
Poland
Portugal
Sweden
I'm trying to find out which civs would fit to the remaining GoT civs, which are The Crownlands, The Vale, The Riverlands and The Free Folk.
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 3:39pm
@miko1216, awesome thanks a lot :)

As for getting permission to use modified art, I'm not sure if the EU creator is still active so that may prove difficult. But I can atleast uploaded it seperately to mediafire or maybe just risk it and include it in the workshop version (including thanks to the EU dev and artists ofc).
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 2:38pm
@Gabe Newell

I have finally found a site where all the EU units are lsited with pictures, so i can take a look at them. Right now I'm making a list of which would look nice with which.:)

And if EU developers would give you a permission to modify their dds-es, (only the colors of course), I would gladly help you, with the artwork.:)
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 11:22am
@Unemployed, I believe the error is caused by having neither the 'Spain and Inca' DLC or the 'Gods and Kings' expansion.
UPLDi 16 Aug, 2014 @ 10:57am
@Gabe Newell
Only BNW
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 10:19am
@miko1216, yes. Which civs do you want me to include and with which art?
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 10:05am
@Unemployed, do you have the 'Spain and Inca' DLC?
UPLDi 16 Aug, 2014 @ 7:35am
@Gabe Newell
I am playing this mod with my friend for a long time and it is only one error we have seen,BUT it is so annoying,when you have to click about one hundred times per second to disable this error.So i will be very thankful if you help to solve it.
UPLDi 16 Aug, 2014 @ 7:23am
@Gabe Newell
Ok,there it is:
Unable to load texture [UnitPortraits256_DLC_02.dds]
It is about mountain knight
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 7:11am
@Gabe Newell Is it possible that you only add those which fit? so for example you only add unique skins to the lannisters or the ironborn?
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 5:21am
@miko1216, I don't think I'll be able to add decent EU support, many of the civs don't match well with the art for vanilla civs. It would require new art and models to work well.

Here are screenshots of some of the civs (the ones using Zulu skins are ones without a vanilla civ with matching colour):
Image 1. [i.gyazo.com]
Image 2. [i.gyazo.com]

Even the ones that have matching colours have units which don't fit the civ/the ASoIaF world.
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:47am
@Gabe Newell

You could try out, egyptian or arabian knight skins.:o
Let me know when are the sreenshots available.:)
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:45am
@miko1216, If I changed the EU art it would mean I was including modified versions of other people's work. I could try asking for permission but I'd rather just avoid including other people's stuff.

As for making the Dornish knight look like the Songhai UU, the Sand Steed (Dornish horsemen replacement) already uses that skin. I don't want two different units using the same skin :/
miko1216 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:17am
@Gabe Newell

I believe the dds files contain the skins of units and the units colors could be changed by Photoshop. It would be a pain in the ass work though.:\ Though it would be awesome if you could replace the skin of the Dornish knight with the UU of Songhai. Is it possible somehow? :)
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 2:37am
@miko1216, I was hoping the EU units would change colour to that of the civ (like vanilla units) but sadly they don't. I'll match them by colour and then take a screenshot to show you.
Gabe Newell  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 2:35am
@Unemployed, I'm sorry I don't know what you mean, what is your error?
UPLDi 15 Aug, 2014 @ 2:14pm
Hello sir,it is so nice
BUT
Have a error
Portret of a new mountain knights
miko1216 15 Aug, 2014 @ 5:22am
@Gabe Newell

For the Westerlands, I'd recommend Englands skins, they look nice and they fit in colors.
For the Ironborn Denmark would be ideal.
For Dorne I'd say Songhai but it lacks the skin of Knight because its an UU for the Songhai civ. It is a great misfortune because I think the European looking knight in Dorne is the most disturbing.:D
For the Reach I always imagined them as the French of Westeros, but the French skins are blue, and the reach skins are green.:\
For the others I have no heavenly idea.:o Maybe the Dothraki the Huns, and the Targeryens Babylonean.:) i have not played with these civs yet. Btw the Unsullied with the immortal skins look ridicioulus.:(
Gabe Newell  [author] 15 Aug, 2014 @ 1:11am
@Bowe, make sure you have followed the installation instructions carefully. Either you don't have the original mod installed or you just haven't enabled it before trying to enable the patch.
Bowe 14 Aug, 2014 @ 5:26pm
Hey it saysit says that the mod is missing dependecies
Gabe Newell  [author] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 11:17am
@miko1216, in v4 I changed it so that the GoT civs were added as new civs (rather than replacing existing ones). Ethnic Units give skins based on the assigned art style. To make it work correctly I just need to set the required art style in the civ details and add EU entries for the new civs. I did a quick test and got a civ to show the assigned art properly.

I now just need to decide what art style the civs will use, but I don't know what all the civs look like as I haven't used EU before. Any ideas for which civs art I should assign to the new civs?
miko1216 14 Aug, 2014 @ 10:29am
@Gabe Newell

You said somewhere that the Lannisters replace the Chinese civ. If ethnic units puts chinese skins on Lannister units that will look kinda funny. Are you going to change that somehow?
Gabe Newell  [author] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 12:30am
@ZAT0002, these are some strange issues.

You could try the following steps:

1) Delete the contents in 'C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache'.

2) Verify the integrity of the game through steam.

3) Unsubscribe from this patch, run the game, wait for the mods list to update, resubscribe, wait for the modlist to update again. Then try looading your save again.
Darth Peggy 13 Aug, 2014 @ 2:20pm
Some issues I've had in my limited time.

1.) Texture for one of Littlefinger's units won't load.
2.) Special units, like the horseback archer and sworn sword for the lanisters show up as spearmen.
3.) [biggest complaint] I saved my Lannister game and had upwards of 60+ happiness. Just reloaded it and I'm now at -57 :/
Gabe Newell  [author] 13 Aug, 2014 @ 8:54am
@quinnyd112, are you using v5 of the patch (the latest)?

If you are then could you upload your save so that I can try to find the cause and fix it? (If you are not sure how to upload it then you can follow the instructions I gave to Lord Gritzke on page 2 of the comments).
quinnyd112 13 Aug, 2014 @ 7:05am
crashed again (continually like before) as dany turn 383, simply continues to load (crownlands turn) with no change.

Want to say I appreciate the patch and work though.
Brambleh 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:44pm
@Gabe omg is gabe newell big fan big fan <3
:ghsmile:
Gabe Newell  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:33am
@Lord Gritzke, phew! Glad I didn't waste 300 turns of your time :P
LandLord Cledus 12 Aug, 2014 @ 11:31am
@Gabe It worked with the update! Well I atleast got to the next turn, if I encounter anymore issuse I will let you know!
Gabe Newell  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:16am
@miko1216, that is really strange.

Go to 'C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache' and delete all of the db files (except 'Civ5ModsDatabase' and 'Civ5SavedGameDatabase').

Does it work correctly the first time after doing that? (like it did after first reinstalling the game)
Gabe Newell  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:09am
@sebelore, the 'no barbarians' option is enabled in the scenario mode. I don't plan to change this as some people like barbarians but other don't.
Gabe Newell  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:02am
@Lord Gritzke, I couldn't load your saves because I don't have the 'Scrambled' map pack DLCs. However, if your bug is the one I think it is then it should be fixed in v5 and your v4 save game should work with v5. Try updating the mod and seeing if it works.
miko1216 12 Aug, 2014 @ 3:22am
I seriously can't believe this. I reinstalled, it worked. I started a match with Doran, and noticed that Petyr is not listed as a leader in the civilopedia. I saved, and quit to main menu to check if he is available. Aaaaaand again only Balon available as a leader...:D
miko1216 12 Aug, 2014 @ 2:50am
@Gabe Newell Disabling the mod didn't solve my problem either. I don't have any idea man.:( I'm reinstalling it today, maybe it will work.
