@Chulpman_XD The body wasn't actually made by me, that was all Ripsaw711, be he uses the glitchwelder mod

@h20 Thanks! :steamhappy:

amazing

oh alr both of you thanks for responding, yeah should mind the timing more i guess... good advice thanks very much also one more question for @Ben Bingo
Do u guys use theeee, glitch welder for the cars or do u like the.. umm.. other way, like.. going through the blueprint files and changing that for the effect?? (like block in block thats what i mean by effect)

@Chlupman_XD My piece of advice when it comes to high efficiency engines (especially speed): Timing Is Everything

Many people overlook timing a lot and just see it as something that "just works", but its the main way to push engine efficiency and can make the difference between a bad and good engine.

@Chulpman_XD, the best way to get an engine fast is to increase efficiency, the best way to do that is to advance timing, you basically have your sensor plate on a controller bearing and you turn the sensor plate in the same direction as the engone is rotating, so the pistons fire a bit earlier, this compensates for the 1 tick of logic delay from the sensors to the pistons, so your engine speeds up.

@Ben Bingo oh alr.. i still dont really understand.. i mean.. i do kind of.. gotta have a look at the engine again now that i know so that i can understand better. Also how tf does it achieve such speeds?? Is it just a matter of timing or the sheer stability of the engine that it can go that fast or is it the pistons having a different rotation point cuz they r closer or wth lol.

@SpicyLuckster yea you pretty much hit the nail on the head, the 2 dislikes you have are also my annoyances with the car, the reason reverse is a bit finicky is because the engine doesn't use logic gates to turn off, it uses engine timing. this leads me to only a couple of options for reverse, either a double bearing clutch and a fast controller with fixed ramp speeds which could make the engine unreliable, or whats currently on it. Also the shaking is a bit annoying, mainly because the car has small wheels and its not very heavy, but i'm glad you enjoyed the rest.

@Chulupman_XD sure ill explain, basically i'm using zero width blocks, they are blueprint edited blocks to they have 0 depth, so they are basically like a flat plate, and i'm using those to attach the crank pins to so I can have the crank pins directly next to the sensor plate but I can still have timing advancement. also for the tops of the pistons, there are pipes that are blueprint edited into the pistons to make them smaller.

What I like:
1- Very high-quality and well-modeled recreation of a CRX, I look at this thing and say "Yeah that's a CRX." The small visual modifications are a neat addition.

2- It's an incredibly compact and very effective V4 piston engine, its tiny but works decently and moves under its own power. To include a hood is a bonus.

3- Lights are cool, functioning brake lights are one of my favorite parts of the exterior.

4- Even with this complex engineering going on inside, the car surprisingly handles and drives good, especially considering Scrap Mechanic's wonky physics.

What I dislike:
1- Gear selection is finicky and a bit complicated, reverse doesn't always work for me.

2- It shudders and shakes a bit, but that's sort of a side effect of piston engines, this doesn't quite upset me much.

Overall, this is a good example of piston-powered vehicle technologies, a somewhat uncommon and dim subject in the community of mechanics.

Dear god guys, that engine??? Im impressed wth is that lol.. how do u get the pistons in like that, also, the rpms? for such small engine.. damn.. i dream of that on my engines lol, could you explain a lil maybe?? or should i just fuck around and find out :>
