Korean ships cannot be recruited in Japan.
Japense ships cannot be recruited in Korea.
Start the Chosokobe tutorial to play as Korea.
You don't need the Expanded Japan mod to play this mod.
While there is merit in setting this mod later it will only be useful if the player has to conquer less of Japan before they can invade Korea. If Japan is split into too many clans then the player won't gain any real benefits.
So any mod set later will require all of the Japanese regions to be under the player's control or split between a few powerful clans. If we're going to include the Toyotomi Allies and Vassals then it will only work if all the regions are under onr faction's control.
So the situation and the Victory Condition should be something like this:
> Toyotomi Allies and Vassals: Gain as many Korean Provinces as possible for The Kanpaku. Victory Regions should be set in Korea rather than Japan, So they only need to conquer Korea.
> The Toyotomi Regency: Keep Domination of Japan and in the same time expand influence over Korea with the help of Vassals. Be wary of Tokugawa backstabbing. Victory Regions part in Korea, part in Japan.
> The Tokugawa and Their Allies: Use the chance of Toyotomi slogged and weakened on their adventures in Korea. Undermine their Influence in Japan to declare a new Shogunate. Victory Regions in Japan
> The Joseon: Survive against Japanese Invasion.
And yes I can see your point... though the Oda did control much of Japan at that point.
The Tokugawa Shogunate was established after the Imjin war and if you play as a vassals then you'll still need to conquer most of Japan before you'll be able to conquer Korea. Unsure what the people ruling Japan were called when Hideyoshi was in power as he wasn't given the title Shogun due to his low birth.
