Some advanced items should require a minimum level of intellect/construction to research and build.

Also the Alien Language research item never shows up in the research tab despite having encountered the alien ship. Improved laser pistol hasn't shown up.

Something that would be nice to see is the ability to break down and reverse engineer advanced items for some amount of research credit.

I see all itens and so on, but researches unlock don't ever show up, make a save, disable mod, look at research its there, for example, sleep training, any research you get from exploration and so on will be there, with this mod they disappear. Unfortunately i only noticed that late game, so now, gonna start fresh

@Lanthrudar They do not appear in the build list or as an item to be researched but are required to be researched by this mod in order to unlock the research of 3 of the items that are included within the mod itself.

So if I want to research "superior improved solar" I am required by this mod to first research something called "improved solar cells" but "improved solar cells" doesn't exist anywhere, under research or as a build-able item/craft-able item

@TheWatcherAI And do those improved items not appear in the build list? Or is it saying those have to be researched first? Been a few months since I played, but I thought with this mod some of the items you had to build and upgrade via mechanics, not science, to trigger other research

Question, "Superior Improved Solar" requires "Improved Solar Cells" but that item does not exist in the menu of options to research?
Same with "Graphene Solar Cells" and "Battery Optimization"

Can you adjust the mod so we can determine the power boost? Unless the new power items cost 5X the resources as the base, producing 5X the power seems a bit much.

Would love the ability to just have the new version boost X above the base item, a modest increase like the carbon vs. default windmills do now. The increased materials cost per unit and the research cost balances that without making it uber powered.

I think the carbon windmills in base game is double output for either 50% or 100% more materials cost, including carbon tubes vs. plain metal which is a task just to get it either through research first or killing a lot of bugs. Having more fun things to research and build towards is always fun, just not making them so OP you never really need to make more than a few of them.

@SlayersKable - Morning, I am tying to add a weapon type of a Vulcan cannon. I have the weapon type and it works fine as a replacement weapon on the default machine gun turrets but on the improved machine gun turret, it makes the weapon part of the icon disappear and the turret doesn't firer. Why would it work on the default turret but not yours? Have you seen this before?

Couple issues I have found on playthroughs. 1) When you upgrade in place you then need to move the unit be it pole, solar, or wind to reconnect it to the grid. 2) improved poles do not show load like the original poles do nor do they allow you to dig into subscribers and providrers and manipulate them enmass.

Love the idea of this mod because just building solar or wind to meet ever increasing requirements is plain annoying. Having the carbon wind farm makes sense from a tech increase.

Just a few hopefully minor tweaks and this is a great add-on

@Yun, I think in the base game the power pole can be bugged too, unable to transfer power if you connect too many power poles. but it still can be deconstructed or moved around.

Messed around a bit more, the only way to get rid of the "Construction Site" state is to use Console Commands, Enable/Disable Cheats in info panel, select the problem pole, and click on the "delete" button twice.

At the moment your mod breaks the metal power pole a bit. If you make either the normal one or the improved one and then reconstruct it, it will break the building causing them to not be able to pass electricity. If you then move them in order to fix them, it breaks completely and will forever be stuck in a "Construction Site" state where you can never move or deconstruct it again, It will have a cancel order, but that buttoned does not work either it will also not be able to pass electricity.

One of my saves have one pole like this and reloading the game does not fix the problem pole.

found some bug if you buy tech from orbital ship it will not count as a prerequisite for some tech ( in my case improve solar energy)

Are you thinking about adding a new turret that uses the impulse rifle attack?

@Lakota Pride a work around is to open folder location with the mod editor.

P.S. You can't edit the file while the game is open or it will try to revert the changes made so after you open the file location close the game and the manager.

Could you add more tiers of improvement?
(more electronic,, then more cpu, then more cpu then carbon, then more carbon)
And with each higher production, lesser maintence and higher output (life, damage, energy)

As far as I see with those 5 mods I am using Beyond Stranded, Grain Silo, Translation, Cheat Printer and your mod imroved Power & Defences the game gets to the point were it is quite playable.
Beyond Stranded and your mod reduce the need of tousand of structure to get to the point because either the storage gets more efficient or the outcome needs less space like for energy production which reduces the maintance time and amounts.
