Just a quick question, would marrying a member of the Cyrodiil / Solsidor dynasty but not taking the name bring the dragonborn hidden flag to the offspring of such a union or is the mecanic tied to the dynasty of a character?
In the same way would a child having the name but not being one by blood (secret bastard or adopted into those dynasties) have the trait?
event ekid_dragonborn.0004
The new update transforms the Dragonborn trait from a directly inheritable one to a 'hidden' trait, activated through a coronation event when an heir inherits the amulet. It's passed from the real father, potentially revealing unexpected parentage.
Falling to 'sinner' piety erases eligibility and inhibits passing the trait. Current Dragonborns are unaffected, but their future offspring won't inherit the trait.
Existing save games should adapt, but the coronation event will act weird until a completely new generation of heirs is born.
I've also removed the EK_artifact claim interaction, that was a little experiment that was accidentally left in.
The latest version of EK2 (Eye of Magnus) mentions implementation of the Amulet of Kings, but as far as I can tell in code there is still no process for obtaining the Amulet or making it wearable. There IS, however, a wearable model of the Amulet that has been added to EK2 which I have implemented to work with this mod.
Official EK2 devs are likely to come up with a solve for obtaining AOK, but as of right now in EK2's code I am still seeing comments like "for when AOK implementation is complete." So for now I am continuing to update and maintain this mod until an official solve is implemented.
Please let me know of any errors anyone runs into with the new EK2 update as I've done some brief but not extensive play testing.
Also if the amulet stays on, you get a claim on the Imperial aisle which I think is a good compromise vs. getting a claim on the Cyrodiil Empire itself. Also if the Cyrodiil Empire isn't formed, it doesn't really do you any good to have claim on a title that doesn't exist.
Just a suggestion, I made a trait for a personal mod called dragonblood that works like the sayyid trait and something like that might work for your mod where perhaps "dragonblood" can "turn into" dragonborn or something or give a greatly reduced chance for the amulet vs dragonborn. Kinda like the Elder Kings 1 system sort of. You could also have a successful amulet decision give an unpressed claim on cyrodiil or something since being dragonborn would probably in lore give a claim on the empire but idk that might be OP.
I have plans to work on dragonborn trait inheritance in general at a later time & this will also include changes to who has more potential to be dragonborn by default (including being of House Dor / Solsildor / decendents of it, etc.)
