after a whopping 2 years of not realizing the devs added new hats, i have added the warlord's hat and the veteran's hat as hats that can be work with diving masks as well

I didn't know it was possible to use the "spriteeditor" command, that's amazing.
I've been doing everything on trial and error.
thanks for the information!
You didn't open up the ingame sprite editor, did you? While one CAN directly edit sprite coordinates in the items file, it's much more convenient to use the sprite editor instead. Just launch the game, type "spriteeditor" in the console and it will show up.
The main reason why the sprite origin coordinates are so weird is because I did all of the editing with my mouse, leading to the editor giving out some overly specific numbers that otherwise didn't cause any trouble so I kept them in.
Also, that was frankly the most tedious part of making the mod: Since I couldn't "preview" how the items would look in-game or on people, I had to restart my game after every sprite edit, open up a campaign save, spawn in the items, and THEN see how they looked on a character. Repeat that around 1-10 times for each hat, and it starts to get old quickly. Good thing the game launches fast.
I tried downloading it to see if I could do it for my own mod, I don't think it's possible lol
Can't understand how the "Origin" part works on the sprite... so many numbers .-.
