@razab I haven't noticed any error messages but will pay extra attention to see if anything comes up. Is there an error log file I can look for?

So far I wasn't able to reproduce the error in my game but I keep going investigating.

Btw does your game throws any error messages while playing (the red little error box bottom right on your screen)?

@razab thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I had 200+ seeds in main inventory. Tried packaging and unpacking and it has no effect.
I am subscribed to the mod so assuming I have the latest version.
I will also search for more seeds for other veggies and see if just is a radish problem.

@PrestigeWorldwide, thanks for the report. I'll investigate the issue.

For sowing radishes, do you have at least six radish seeds in your inventory? Beacuse for sowing them, you need at least 6 seeds (thats already a feature in the vanilla game which my mod does not change).

Also, make sure that you play with the current version of the mod. In previous versions, there was a problem with the radish jars but this has been fixed in an update. Maybe your are playing a super old save which you have started before the update (before march, 2024)?

Anyway, I'll still check whether I can reproduce any of the problems you reported.

Problem with planting. Grew and harvested broccoli and radishes to seed bearing stage. When went to replant, only broccoli seeds were selectable. Tried packaging and unpackaging radish seeds. No luck.
Also, preserved radishes in jar. Ate from jar but contents wouldn't empty, no nutritional value after some point. Again, only happened with radishes and not broccoli. Pouring out contents returned empty jar.
41.78; this is only farming mod used. Was August.
Is this expected? Also, if I unsubscribe from mod, is there likelihood to corrupt save file?

@Gimbo, wdym? Have you tried my mod and was it possible to grow tomatoes in October?

The farming season should end in October but it may end during the last days (exact day when season ends is randomized). So it may be possible that you can sow tomatoes during October.

hi i was wandering around farming mods and i found this one i was reading about the growing seasons but i noticed there is no differences between seasons like i can grow tomatoes in october

@Comando, the "More Smokes" mod works completely fine for me with my mod. It also displays info about growing seasons of the new crops without any errors for me.

Yes Mod itself work on this too, but if you move mouse on the plant, Error will show, because mod dont kow what plant it is, so plant itself die, but you cant see "Growing season".

@Commando, For the idea about temperature affecting crop health: I decided to not use such a system in my mod and not linking the mechanism to the actual temperature and crop health. Reason for that decision is that I would have less control over the game balance. I therefore decided to just let the farming season end at some plausible random date in early winter.

For the mod in your link: I think it should work with my mod just out of the box meaning that the new crop types introduced by the "More Smokes" mod will also die when farming season is over. Or did you experience problems with the "More Smokes" mod?

No i use only vanilla farming with your mod. Im trying write my own mod only for farming, just try check square air tempreature and then lower HP of the plant. And reason is is simple: This allow use heater or greenhouse. maybe this information hepls you.

@Commando, Just farming inside a greenhouse should be possible with the mod. It does not change anything about the location where you can farm. However, with my mod enabled, your crops will die in winter even if they are located in a greenhouse.

Not sure whether adding a greenhouse-feature where winter does not affect crops in greenhouse would be easy. So I cannot say anything about whether I might add such a feature in future. But I definitely like the idea!

Btw, do you use any mods which add greenhouses? Or are they already in vanilla game??

@IndieN0mad, now I see! When playing with Food Preservation Plus mod, you will have two canning options, one from each mod. Not optimal for a polished experience but I am not planning to do anything about it from my side. Since both mods touch the same game system it is difficult to make them compatible. Sorry here...

@razab hmmm I remember I did experience a hiccup/confusion regarding the canning options, since both mods use a 'can' to canned something like carrots.

@Stranger, many thanks! Some of this mod's feature will in future probably be part of vanilla. For the next larger vanilla update, there are some changes to the farming system planned which are quite similar to what my mod does (but probably a bit better than in my mod ;) ).

@IndieN0mad, the only thing which is a bit critical is that both mods touch the canning system of the game. However I did a quick test with both mods enabled, checked the relevant mechanics and it seems to work without issues. Also had a quick look at Food Preservation Puls's code and my impression is that they will work fine together. When enabling both mods, what happens is this: the mechanics related to the canning system will come from my mod. Other stuff like preserving meat will come from the other mod. The new features of the farming system will also come from my mod. But I am not 100% about all this (always possible that there will be bugs in very specific situations which I have not tested yet - but this holds in fact for any mods you use). Btw changing load order was not necessary for me.

@Vanra_El, do you remeber during which action you got all those errors? cause I just did a very quick play-test of my mod with the Inventory Tetris mod and was not yet able to detect any errors.

Today I discovered that Inventory Tetris does not play well together with Your mod 😅prints 500 errors a minute on inventory render.

@Incinatus, you are right. the mods are incompatible. the reason is that "Nested Containers" overwrites some critical part of the code from the vanilla game which is needed for my mod to work. there is nothing I can do about it from my side. you could try changing the load order of the two mods somehow. there are some additional mods which may allow changing load order but I wasn't able to figure out how it works (had some problems with those "mod manager" type mods). but I also do not know whether changing load order will make them work together. so no guarantee here... so this only an advice if you really like tinkering around. otherwise, I recommend to decide for one the mods and abandon the other one.

@razab I found the incompatible mod... it was Nested Containers. Took me a lot of enabling and disabling mods but I found it. Is there anything you can do on your end?

@Incinatus, just right click on the item (like peanut butter). one of the options you will see then is "Open Jar". just click this option. this should work fine (I've done this uncountable times without problems so far).

How do I open peanut butter and other vanilla jars? Seems this mod breaks it. Description says they must be opened before use but I have no opening option...

(PS: If I adjust your code to include sandboxvars configuration of freshness and expiry I would love to pull request the changes with you or simply send you that code after it is tested. Would you want to include something like that in your original mod?)

@123, Hey! so I just tried the mod with the "Alternative Inventory Rendering" mod and did not detect any problems. I also tried sowing in different months (april and march playing in debug menu) and the mod worked as intended for me. in growing season, I could sow and outside growing season, sowing had no effect as intended. didn't get any error notifications.

maybe you can provide some more info? like what other mods you are using, what type of crops you tried to sow, what farming level your character has...? and do you use any other mods changing something about the user interface?

Are there any known incompatible mods? I just get an error which points to this mod every time I attempt to sow anything, and it's now the middle of April in game. Could Alternative Inventory Rendering be the issue?
