Since last patch my tactics stopped working, need to try yours.

I have came across a few games like that, I'm still with Wrexham and putting it down to the players at a lower level

This is very good tactic. I'm managing Piacenza in Serie C and currently in the first place with only 1 lost and 3 drew in 17 matches.

The possession is great (70%+) but my XG and Chances created are so low considering my team was on the better side, XG around 0.6-1.3 and shots around 8-15 each game with 2-6 on target.

either way, we're still winning with many 1 or 2 goal scored without conceding.
