Sorry to bug you but, since this mod was such a life savior for me when it comes to guns when can we expect a B42 version? Sounds like you are almost there

There is less and less to go
CakeDayZ  [author] 30 Jun @ 8:31pm
I have made a lot of progress on the 42 overhaul. Basic crafting bench repairs are functional and I've been playing around with a lot of the math. The things on my todo list are to get installed vehicle parts repair, uninstalled vehicle parts repair, and any sort of UI to communicate repair chances implemented.
SDgamer 24 Jun @ 10:55pm
i really do hope we get a B42 version soon. I mostly need that for guns as broken melee weapons or Handles can be recycled for materials to make new ones
Play4Fun 18 May @ 7:56am
Thanks for this mod , hope it will be soon available in b42
Brezonte 8 Feb @ 4:15pm
Nice
CakeDayZ  [author] 8 Feb @ 11:44am
Good News everyone. I have begun working on the 42 update, because the vanilla repair itself is super broken. I am using the opportunity to make a lot more sweeping improvements to repairs. No ETA yet.
Brezonte 22 Jan @ 4:31am
When this mod is compatible with version 42 it will undoubtedly reach 5 stars and have double the awards
CakeDayZ  [author] 20 Jan @ 10:15am
Some of the unstable 42 changes I noticed while I was playing and poking around in the code:
Repair stacks now start at zero instead of one, easy fix codewise.
Reparing weapons is done via crafting, at a table, and takes much more time.
This crafting recipe does not show repair chances or amount it can fix.
The odds of a successful repair are MUCH lower at low skill levels.
Failing a repair always adds a repair stack.
Failing a repair always removes 1 condition (previously it was 20% chance)
Repairs grant exp on successful repair, a flat random amount.
Repairs are still % of missing condition instead of maximum condition.
More fixers added.

So i've got a lot of changes I want to make, but am still waiting for more b42 development first
CakeDayZ  [author] 20 Jan @ 9:59am
Thank you! With how disappointing the repair changes in b42 are, keeping b41 support is a much higher priority for me now. Also TiS has implmented support for keeping different versions for 41 and 42, so there should be no changes to 41 whenever I get arround to trying to fix 42.

Hope this mod still works with B41 after you update it, this mod is really nice! Great work!
CakeDayZ  [author] 29 Dec, 2024 @ 3:26pm
I have not gotten around to poking the fixing manager. I have seen major changes to the crafting recipe side, but i dunno about the underlying repair function.

I am not in a rush to update my mods, as B42 is still in active development. My modding will resume as the build becomes more and more stable.
Garfield. 29 Dec, 2024 @ 1:16pm
B42 unstable released, i assume you have plans to update this eventually right? i dunno how the repair mechanics work in B42 but i assume they are the same
CakeDayZ  [author] 28 Oct, 2024 @ 3:35pm
Hello, that must be another mod causing that issue. I can repair things with adhesive, glue, and nails just fine with a tiny mod list.
Unit Z1Z0 28 Oct, 2024 @ 2:20pm
Hey! I was loving the idea from the mod, then I noticed I couldn't fix my spiked baseball bat with nails anymore, actually the only option was wood glue (witch I didn't had). Is this intentional?
Then I noticed I couldn't fix or remove some parts of my vehicles, im trying to find out the source of the bug, removing "vehicles repair overhaul" mod fixed the issue with car parts, but I still can't use use adesive tape or normal glue to fix my weapons...
im currently maintenance 4, if it changes anything

Yes. I personally dislike the balance of Brita's and use Vanilla Firearms Expanded instead.
JESU WA MONKE 31 Aug, 2024 @ 4:18am
Does this work with Brita's and using gun cleaning kits?
XanderC 2 Aug, 2024 @ 11:08am
@FunnyMustacheMan you mean copy the mod's files found in the workshop folder that has those numbers in its name and then replace the updated mod files for the legacy build i'll play(41 78 16) once the author updates the mod for b42?
CakeDayZ  [author] 4 Jul, 2024 @ 6:06am
Completely safe to install and uninstall mid save.
HerpDerp 3 Jul, 2024 @ 10:15pm
Is this safe to use on a current save or does it require a new game?
Funny Mustache Man 25 Jun, 2024 @ 1:53am
@XanderC Why not copy the game into a different directory, so that when Steam updates your copy in your Steam folder you can still run the other one on a previous version with all your mods?
CakeDayZ  [author] 27 Apr, 2024 @ 1:53pm
From what we know so far, the current version of the mod will likely work perfectly fine in both versions.

In the future if TIS completely overhauls repairing, keeping backwards compatibility will be very low priority.
XanderC 26 Apr, 2024 @ 2:57pm
Hello cakedayz, i use your mod and i love the features you added, the simplicity and quality of life improvements to the repair system is great, but with b42 beta getting closer everyday i have to ask you if you're planning on keeping the support for b41.78.16 even with the release of 42official. Since i'm not really sure if i'll play on 42, i have to know this to ensure i can still play in my old save with your mod.
Maru Whilby 21 Apr, 2024 @ 9:40am
The vehicle mechanics issue is caused by the mod Let Me Think. Switching to Alternate LMT fixes the issue.
CakeDayZ  [author] 31 Dec, 2023 @ 9:45am
Hello renzofi. I don't think that's the case, considering I do not modify the IsUninstallVehiclePart.lua file at all. The only compatibility issue possible is with ISFixAction.lua. Please reply with a detailed list of mods and I will attempt to help you resolve your issue.
Vilespring 31 Dec, 2023 @ 9:43am
No idea what you're talking about, as I use this mod in an expansive modlist for a while now and have had no issues with working on vehicles.

This mod doesn't do anything to the context menu in relation to the vehicle GUI. And I mean literally nothing.
Zenin001 30 Dec, 2023 @ 11:49pm
Incompatible with most mods for 41.78+. Removes the option to uninstall most if not all car parts. Just discovered this after 10 hours into my modded playthrough. Took another 2 hours to isolate this mod from other mods to find the source of the issue.

Jasdan 20 Sep, 2023 @ 10:25pm
I honestly adore this mod
CakeDayZ  [author] 17 Aug, 2023 @ 9:57am
As well as that I have released a patch with a much more mod compatible version of the tooltip, and some other minor fixes that were queued.
CakeDayZ  [author] 17 Aug, 2023 @ 7:14am
Hello Susu,

Can you give me a full list of mods you are running so I can accurately recreate this issue? Both of these features work perfectly fine on their own, it's very likely an incompatibility with another mod.

Any other info from the debug screen would also be appreciated.
Susu 17 Aug, 2023 @ 3:24am
This mod is quite good
but it makes me unable to remove the hood of my vehicle, and place weapons in my quick slot, etc

function: addFixerSubOption -- file: PrevenativeMaintenance_ToolTip.lua line # 37 | MOD: Preventative Maintenance
Trenzo 26 Jul, 2023 @ 5:57pm
By far one of the best mods to grace this platform. Your mod has changed my Zomboid experience forever! I look forward to what ideas/mods you will publish in the near future.
CakeDayZ  [author] 8 Jun, 2023 @ 10:38am
It already is compatible with that mod. The reason is because my mod changes the repair action itself, while that other mod changes the fixer (the duct tape or other item used in the process of repair).
Sai 23 May, 2023 @ 12:30am
Neat mod, and the new feature sounds sweet. Thanks for the mod :)
Zanx 11 May, 2023 @ 8:40pm
Thank you for that, I see that it is indeed working now and shows when I get and when I skip a stack, Thank u very much for this update! :D
CakeDayZ  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 6:22pm
Also there could be other issues as to why it's not working on your server. The sandbox settings could be very different than the default ones, or it can be disabled entirely if the wrong box is unchecked.
CakeDayZ  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 6:20pm
Hello Zanx! I just released a patch that shows a message if you gain a repair stack by repairing with too low condtion.

At present there is no way to see the threshold in game, however its not off the table completely. I really want a solution where I can indicate it on the weapon or repair menu itself, however if I can't I'll see about slapping in a lazier implementation of a menu somewhere.

Lastly just making sure, are you sure the server has the mod installed? Please double check by logging into the server -> hit esc -> click mods in the bottom right corner -> scroll and find Preventative Maintenance. Also the mod conflicts with the mod this was based on, "Custom Repair Settings", so if the server is running that mod too, it will conflict.
Zanx 10 May, 2023 @ 4:51pm
I dont see any errors and I dont think i got any mod that could be conflicting, but I dont really see if this mod is working or how it's working, I cant see any treshhold, and I dont think it's working As my perchantage for repair on some weapon keeps going down even when i try to repair at like 80-90% might be because I'm in multiplayer, but could u maybe put in some pics of how that treshhold line looks like so I know what to look for? :)
CakeDayZ  [author] 6 Apr, 2023 @ 12:22pm
yes, I made both
Lyzz 6 Apr, 2023 @ 9:52am
is it compatible with more repair recipes?
