For those who may be having trouble I have found a possible work around for you or maybe this was the way the mod developer intended. When I place the plots I use 'Alt' but I also use 'C' to crouch and I'm no longer placing farm plots in the air.

By the way Gamerkuipers you are freaking awesome I love your mod, best mod ever.

I'm also having the issue with farm plots hanging in the air. Using precise placement does fix that so not a huge issue. Also would love to be able to put it in a tool rack, but this seems to be an issue with the vanilla farm tools as well :/

They are still floating in the air. Also would only let me place it in a couple spots even though there was nothing there.

The keybinds above also don't work?

HI, i am having issues with the Farm Plotter tool.
I have both HML and Farm Plotter (henceforth referred to as 'FP') mods installed.
I have purchased the tool from Grangefield, as shown in an image, and I have taken it back to my plot on Dreck Quarry.
Here's what's happening:
I pick it up using E (I have tried R&LClick and Q as well) but nothing shows up like the highlighting shown in your second image. I have tried each and every keybind listed here, in the ingame description and everything else, but literally nothing happens. It just behaves like an inanimate object that does nothing.
No silouhettes. Not a single farm plot. Not a single GUI.
Anyone got an idea a to what's wrong?

I have had the same problem. I reinstalled the mod and I am using the precision aiming to get the correct height.

I seem to be having the same issue, the placement of the plots seems to be off by like a half block height.

Well now it's doing it again...there's something causing the placement to be off. I need help after all!

Disregard my comment. I just came back to it to try again, and it works as intended now. Not sure what was happening before.

When I try to place the plant plots in precision mode (Alt) it doesn't place them where I have highlighted. It places them above it, where the non-precision placement would put them. Any workarounds for this? I would like to not have floating plant plots. Other mods I have installed are TerrainManipulator, Buy Buy Crates and TableSaw.

To a completely new player?

This is a mod to make farming a bit easier and neater. As a mod, it is completely optional for the game, but does provide some "quality of life" to the gameplay.
The tool added to the game with this mod can be purchased at Grangefield (where the other farming stuff is). It allows the player to plant a whole field of "plant foundations" the size of their choosing. As well as size, the player can also change how tightly packed the plots are - from wide enough for a pipe drip system to densely packed for a sprinkler and cropper system.
If you've moved from harvesting crops by hand to harvesting with the cropper, this can definitely save you a lot of time and hassle - especially if you are OCD like me and insist on straight rows of evenly spaced farm plots.

i just downloaded this mod, bought the item and it doesnt work... it doesnt even do a single one...

I'll double check, but that doesn't sound right.
If that happens again, dropping it on the ground and picking it back up should also reset it (instead of the tool rack)

Strangly this worked the first time I used it to place down a 10x10 and then i put it on a tool rack.
Next time I picked it up it will ONLY place or delete a single plot.
Tried all of RTY and CTRL+RTY nothing changes.

Any ideas?

Currently, it's just the mods I've made ('cause I'm OCD about my builds, haha) and required mods.
Any suggestions for other mods that qualify for "OCD" tools?

Do you mean tag, like "Cheats" and "Tools" in Steam? (I don't think I can control that, but I can ask the devs if they can add it)
Or did you mean I should have a single mod will all my OCD tools in it?
Or another way to interpret "group"?

@BearlyKodiak, i wasnt getting a colored dot at all, but i was able to figure out that i wasnt aiming correctly. i was aiming straight down and not forward a bit. thats when i got a blue dot to show and was able to place holes and make adjustments. complete user error on my part, srry. Thnks for the help though.

works fine, had a little problem with it at the start, probably wasnt holding my tongue right lol.

For the spacing question:
The default spacing is at it's max (1 full block between plots - best for pipe drip farms)
Tighten the packing by holding CTRL while clicking Y.

Cass, if you can give more detail, I might be able to help. Are the "aiming" plots colored red, green, or orange?
If it is red, you are not inside of a plot you own. If it is green, it will place plots. If it is orange, it is deleting plots.

HELP! The tool isnt working. I am pressing the right keys, but it wont dig a single hole.

I loveeeeeeeee your mods a lot, they are really helping me make some bank after I lost my save game. On question though, how do you change the spacing with the letter y, I don't get it yet

A vehicle is way beyond my skills, but I do have an update coming (after catching the last couple bugs)

I was also thinking a short tractor like vehicle like the hydro cropper with a "Plow head" on front to make seed plots, with a roller on back to remove them & mouse 2 cycles threw the 2 with a 3rd click setting both options to off... BUT IDK how hard making an actual vehicle from scratch would be.

I'll try to add a picture of the tool later.
It looks like a trowel with the "dev purple". It stands out a bit at the Grangefield store.
