Indeed, several of the caps the textures dont really matter anymore as the shape is defined through 3 pixels wide "lines", its more about removing the blurry blob placed over the insignias and making a square shape that "kinda looks like something".

Eh, tbf most of the uniforms dont really matter anyways as no one is really looking at them during gameplay at a scale where it would be noticeable, even in the roster menu.

Yeah they are, if they are hard to see its because of the bump map files were created already censored, yet i haven't been able to replicate the bump maps (they never load correctly), so it comes to down to manually modifying them, also since the textures are now 512x512 they are much lower resolution.

And yeah, the LW Supply Officer is one of the units using a 3D model rather than a texture.

I have to assume the downgrade in texture size made it harder to show any kind of noticeable change on things like the caps and belts.

25/05/24: Deleted legacy uniform files, uncensored new uniform and headgear files, tweaked uniform BP files causing black spots, mod halved in size from 1.65 GB.

Headgear BP files have not been modified because they keep loading as a black texture on my side regardless of DTX3 or DTX5 compression, also there is a Luftwaffe helmet and officer cap which use 3D models instead of textures (guess the devs gave up after realizing its not worth the time and remain as leftovers), i wasnt able to track the models and i'm unsure of when i can get around to locating and modifying them, apologies.

Alas i won't be able to push the update this week, i've been busy so far and it turns out i'll have family visiting *me* this weekend (lol).

The good news is that even though there's a significant increase on helmet texture variants and almost all uniform textures have been obsoleted, the update has consolidated the excessive amount of folders and files (ie: 20 folders with 5-15 textures for each "uniform" are now halved to just 40 in a single file path), plus their mapping format is also more consistent and efficient, so it is taking less time to make progress when i'm able to.

Additionally other files have been reduced in resolution, so both of these factors should significantly reduce the mod's file size.

@Nekojima Nah i did try to match the compression and size of the vanilla textures, i saw a post by the devs mentioning the update was 26+ GBs because they had "restructured" the .pak files to be more optimized and take less space in future updates, mayhaps they lowered the texture resolutions?

Perusing the files did you increase the texture size of the originals to 1024x1024? because on the m43 cap is now 512x512 vanilla I wonder if they lowered the pixels for performance. They also now have a burned version with a ebm file most interesting.

@Nekojima Yeah i've noticed, before they censored them by placing a grey blob that matched the buckle texture, its odd and maybe a bit lazy but oh well, nobody looks at the models up-close anyways in normal gameplay.

Also not sure if you’ve taken a look yet and I could be misremembering but they’ve changed how they censored the belt buckles now having a black dot in the middle which is odd to me

I’ve only seen that for the Sleeveless units I believe but the uniforms are nice imo but glad to hear the news of the update for next week!

Mod will likely be updated next week for the new uniforms/helmets, as i will be visiting family through this friday and weekend.
The new models also appear to be bugged and have twisted wrists, hopefully the devs fix that eventually.

I messed around with the files a while back and its tied to the machine gunner helmet just never found where to find his helmet at.

Hello once more While this doesn't fall under uncensoring I noticed on late war MG42 turret gunner has a 1939 insignia of the German shield on his helmet even those were removed after that year up to you if you deem it worth editing just thought I would let you know.

@Dr. Butters first of all never ever seen the obviously overdramatised reaction to censor that you described. Sounds more like you surround yourself with already unreasonable People to begin with. GoH is a game which in fact is Art, as every other video game. And for example in Germany, art, science and education are freed of any censor. Yet to name one of the many games like wolfenstein always have been censored, even changing Hitlers appereance, which completely takes away the immersion the game tries to sell. Just like that GoH tries to sell an immersive historical setting in which you take command of conflict armies during WW2. So personally i dont like any sensor concerning this, its not like im printing out flyers with insignias on and right motivated speeches. I didn`t explain well enough. I was talking about the icons for unit selection on the left screen side and also hovering over the unit. In case of the Fallschirmjäger it`s a diving down eagle, which should have a swastika in it`s claws.

Yeah they're very small, some are like 5x6 pixels across so there isn't really much to change, nonetheless i just edited those which seemed blurred out or obscured intentionally.

Also i did a bit of research and it seems the Fallschirmjager helmets are not censored? They apparently only feature the emblem on the left side, so it seems those are ok, the Luffwaffe caps were censored though.

Yes I mean the icons form the roster on the left side of the screen. They`re small anyways. Maybe too small. Especially the officer`s icon. There`s already something beneath the eagle. Not sure if it would even be visible, if you`d change that

What do you mean? The Fallschirmjager helmet is a bit shoddy but that's because the helmet texture is loaded as a circle, thus the emblem has to be drawn as a trapezoid, and it's an absolute chore to get it looking right.

Otherwise i'm not sure what are you referring to.

I didn’t notice until my last match and upon checking the units the Pioneer units for I think the Lehr??? Are still censored I’m not at my pc right now so I can’t get the exact name etc I apologize for that but I know it was late war and it’s for sure one of the Pioneers belts again I wonder if your edit didn’t save maybe?
