-In the very top room, we can ear the sound of a dying dropwig.
-The entrance to the upper part is not usable, as far as i'm concerned, I had to cheat to access the upper part. moving the pole one tile on the right would fiw the problem.
conclusion:
the region has a big potential, but still has a lot to improve.
-Lore
lore would be a perfect way to give intrest to the region. right now, the only think I could think of would be a pearl rote by and ancient or something, that desribes the collapse of the building, or, I don't know, maybe how it was before collapsing, ect. you could also put an echo, but that seems to be a lot of work.
- Other connexions
I already spoke about that, the rgion needs at least one other connexion. not too close to Outskirts, the best region I can think of for that job would be Sky Island, and eventually Pipeyard if you want to implement a third connexion.
-Creatures
I know that this is supposed to be a peacefull region, but creature like squidicadas, and eventually a bunch of dropwigs or tny adult cantipedes would add so much life to the region.
-The utility of the region
it's kinda obvious, but the region as nothing intresting to offer right now. it does not connect to any other region, and the gate isn't placed at the the best spot. I recomand thinking about ways to makes it so the player has uses to enter the region, and this is the next topic.
water mazes can be cool, but it dosen't match with compact rooms. the fun in swiming in rain world come from the feeling that you're swimming, and how realystic it is in game. in compact rooms, you can't experience that, witch removes the fun. (this is what I was thinking about when I spoke about this one room in the upper part earlyer) in addition, the solution of the maze is likeky very confusing, and not finding it is basically death.
-The region is way too compact
the region is suffocating me just as if I was asmathic ! that is one reason why I prefered the upper part, because the lower part is extremely compact, the path are hard to find, and don't forget that rain world is a movment-based game ! to be clear, compact rooms are not nessesarely bad, but there are way too frequent in this region, and way too compact ! why do you think filtration system is hated by most players ? in addition, compact rooms will prevent you from putting any sort of creatures, or else it would cause some massive difficulty ballancing issues.
- The upper part
the entire upper part of the region is a positive point, exept for one room that fits the negative points I will talk about later. the rooms are truely butyfull, and the parcour is quite good, even if I think it's a bit too challenging for new players. if the region was mostly like thet, it would be much better, and I recomand doing more rooms like this. also, unlike the lower part, it's not like anything we've seen in the base game, wich is very good. I also recomand playing on the "big stone-wall structure that collapsed" or else, I'm scared that the region end up looking just like Chemny Canopy, and loosing it's originality. that is why I won't recomand putting vultures neither (it will also be way too challenging for new player)
-The shelters
the two original shelters are fantasticall, and unique. continue like that !
in my opinion, this mod has a big potential, but some concept needs to be re-worked, and a lot of pieces are missing.
but let's start with the positives and negative points. (also don't mind the grammar, english isn't my first language)
unfortunately, steam comentarys cannot be mor than 1000 characters long, so I had to spit my critic in few parts.
The pause at 1:00 was actually me trying to use the single player coop emotes mod to point since I REALLY love that room :D (so i was quick tapping rather than holding haha)
I do have Jolly Coop enabled in the video though! So I hope the info helps! :)
I mirror the other commenters, I hope you keep developing it further since it is a really interesting concept! :)
I made a video exploring it btw! Feel free to include it in the workshop preview if you feel like it!
