Alright... I think I cracked the code to making this works in 1.5. If you look in the XML files I think the mod is trying to generate structures including assets and items from both Vanilla Faction Expanded Medieval and Vanilla Faction Expanded Vikings which we know, aren't in the 1.5 version because they've been replaced by Vanilla Faction Expanded Medieval 2. So if you open the XML files and replace all the "VFEM_xxxx" and "VFEV_xxxx" with a simple "." I think it should make it works. Can't guarantee it though I'm just a dude who tried to find an explanation

Can also confirm, this does work in 1.5 but it needs the tags to stop it from spamming errors.

Hi, i'm terribly sorry for bothering you with this however i tried creating my own palace via your file structure however it doesn't seem to be loading, can i please ask for some assistance as to why? i triple checked and everything seems to be in order but the map just isn't showing up in the add custom structures

Ah just remembered you can just spawn one of the palaces from the dev menu on any map, I guess that is the best way to get around the bug for now

Any time I try to generate a map on any other tile then "Mountainous" I get the failed to generate map error. I have over 300 mods but no map gen mods so I have no idea what could be causing this.

Quick question - I downloaded this mod and tried to force a spawn of the new palace in fresh "new family" scenario. I noticed that the scenario still lists the map contains a "royal villa". I went into the scenario editor and can see the new palace option but when I click on it to select it, the scenario doesnt update. Any ideas why this is happening?

not causing me any issues in my test run through this start, though I can't say the same for ALL biomes of course

NOTE- when he says VERY HARD start, he really means impossible

I wanted to goof around, so I made an archotech bionic super soldier, though with only 12 melee. And note, while this mod also gives you a handful of colonists compared to the original New Family scenario which kills off everyone else, the colonists you "have" are all locked inside crypto sleep caskets, and far away in an unexplored map. AND, your solo colonists (unless you edit the scenario) will be surrounded by 6-8 hostiles with spacer tech weapons, easily melting a single super solder before they can really even get to work xD

I've cleared my mod list down to only the vanilla expanded mod series but it still seems that no matter what I do, I can't get a spacious palace to generate for the new family scenario. Its always the exact same small base with some valuable items and 20% of its internal walls destroyed.

Minor issue, all raiders freak out as soon as no pawn is in viewing distance. They ignore pawns entirely and try to escape, same with summoned allies. I have no idea how to fix this outside of installing a mod that removes the fleeing type of panic.

Map designer is known to conflict with KCSG.. I’m afraid you’ll have to disable map designer and it should work

I just wanted to mention in case it's not a conflict, but with this enabled I could not for the life of me get the New Family start to work. It would throw errors during the map generation and as soon as I disabled this the original start would work fine. After messing around a bit I removed the "start in the middle of the map" from the start and the start finally loaded, but the palace spawned in a corner of the map with maybe 1/3 actually present. The rest seems to have overflowed off the map. I am going to begin the super fun process of figuring out what mod is probably causing the issue, but I figured I would throw it out there in case anyone else ran into this.

@Matsay Agreed, just like my other map mod, this was initially made for myself, since I wanted more from the VE scenarios, and the maps I've made are designed for use by me, however I do enjoy sharing them and I will absolutely bear in mind feedback if I make more.

Don't get me wrong I think you're on to something good here. Definitely has a great end battle with the big villain feel to it. Maybe that's where they chase you down and you finally decide to man up and face them? I don't know, you figure it out. It's getting so late it"s actually getting early, i need to get some sleep.

Nowfor the you're stupid part. You can't just hijack other mods mapgen, not tell anyone, and hope all goes well. People are gonna be missing pieces since your symbols are pointing to defs in mods they don't have. I don't use vanilla furniture exp much for example so I'm pretty much missing out on all the deco. And most of the floors. Got the ten cryptovikings tho, they joined my faction right from the start. (Again, not something you wanna start with, especially if the player didn't get to roll them himself.) So you either need to give a full list of dependencies of find some kind of workaround.

Ok so on the one hand, this looks so fantastic it probably needs to be its own scenario. You should check with Oskar, I'm sure he can help you work something out. Also, I knida feel like this needs to be at the END of a questline? A very long one? I mean come on, Im going through your symbol file to see which mods I need to dl, you took the best of EVERY SINGLE VE MOD and cramed it all in one glorious castle... This is not where you start. This is where you END UP.

The floors are contained in Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Architect. Should probably be added to the description at the very least.
