Well this one works better then the other version which has missing firing animations on some weapons. It be nice Alpha if you can figure out how to apply tint and camo to the shiv models :)

@The Hive you build them in the proving grounds. Other mods may cause issues if they remove or mess with the proving grounds.

Something I haven't seen anywhere else that's left me stumped is, where do you actually UNLOCK SHIVS? They aren't available from the very start as far as I can tell.

I want SHIVs from this mod to carry heavy cannons [ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/2127166233#_ts1744472442069 ] as indirect fire support. Using [ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1533060800 ], I did manage to equip SHIVs with heavy cannons - but it doesn't allow them to carry ammo racks. The ammo racks simply show as "unavailable" and I can't figure out what's going wrong.

I want to add Shiv soldiers to my barracks in the form of a console in the proving grounds right away. Can you tell me the command? Code? to create a Shiv soldier in the proving grounds?

@henrykhaung No, mainly because I am not a modeler. I cannot make a new model and simply porting it would not work. If someone can make the model, animations and textures I would be happy to include it.

i wouldn't be at all surprised if it's a bad mod interaction on my end. i scanned the comments on both this one and the older version and didn't see them referenced at all. i haven't tried everything yet, but so far the ones i have all seem to work fine.

does the shiv missile upgrade work for other people? i can buy it and attach it, and it has an ability in game, but i can't activate the ability or target anything with it.

I need some help, someone knows how to:

Exclude SHIV from Augmentations?

The mod by adding the blacklist way to operate, "+ CharacterTemplateBlacklist ="

This is usually found in the "RequiredCharacterClass=" line of classdata.ini.

But this mod doesn't have that line and I don't know how to look for it.

Personally I am not mod-savvy enough but from what I heard it seems the shiv's using the Skyrangers' Sounds when actions occur like going up or down certain obstacles. I am assuming it just defaulted to that sound pack. I might be misremembering but wasn't the skyrangers' sound super loud years ago?, maybe the same thing's happening with the shiv as well.

@Wolf Renegade Honestly I do not know how to edit their sounds. I am wanting them to be more quiet as well. With work and other IRL things I have not had to much time to work/update all of my Xcom 2 mods. If someone can find a way in the files to make them quieter, and wanted to work with me to make that occur in this mod I would make some time to update this.

I really enjoy using Shivs, I have one small gripe and that's just the sound which is somewhat loud even if sound effect is almost muted. Is there a way to edit the sound myself, even if it's to mute it as a last resort temporarily?

@Caine I state do not bring Shivs to the mission called lost and abandoned. The special story mission for WOTC, because they can break that mission. I did not stat any missions with lost on them.

As for the GTS thing that is another mod breaking something as I cannot put SHIVs into the GTS for my game. SHIVs in this mod do not rank up, so even if another mod let's you rank them up it wont do anything.

Finally no you cannot change their appearance, SHIVs current models are not able to be customized like normal soldiers. This cannot be done for a number of technical reasons.

First of all, great mod! Thank you for this nostalgic little guy back in my arsenal. :)

First question: I noticed that in the Guerrilla Tactics School, you can train a shiv for 5 days to obtain Upgrade 1. 5 days later, nothing happened, as far as I can tell. (Simple stat boost?) Is there anything to this upgrade or is that leftover code and doesn't do anything more? Additionally, the name of the SHIV still reads Base Lightning SHIV. Was the name supposed to change?

Second question: Would it be possible to apply colors and patterns to them like you can do on SPARKS?

Btw, I also read on your description to not use shivs on Lost missions, and yet I have done so twice in my current campaign and there were zero issues. My Scout SHIV just mowed down Lost left, right and centre and I encountered no bugs or crashes of any kind.

the blacksite vial made sense due to the cutscene to me, but I guess it also reaches to applying X4 or marking supply crates during that encounter.

I have a question: Is there a way to make it so these or the leveling shivs can manipulate objectives, like planting charges or marking supply crates? I wish objective wise these were on similar footing to the sparks, even if they weren't animated to do either task.

Hello Alpha.
First, thank you for bringing back these awesome SHIVs into the game again. So wonderful to see them on the field of battle again. :)

Couple of very minor things as feedback.
1. Any chance we can apply colors and Patterns to them like SPARKS?
2. I notice that the turret swirling sound always plays every time any enemy unit in range moves. It can really get annoying fast. Curious to know if there is some way to make it stop playing that sound file on any enemy movement? It got very egregious on a Lost mission with over 50+ zombies on the field.

Other than that, truly love the fact you added jump jets to these SHIVs so they can navigate the battlefield even more smoothly than XCOM EU. Nice touch. :)

@hottt3 no, I did not test to see if it would work with LWOTC. However based on previous experience someone would have to make this mod compatible with it. Probably the mod jam team or some other user. I don't want to personally remake the mod for LWOTC but if someone else wants to go and do it they have my full support.

@centurion00 its tied to Sound effects volume so lower that if you want them to be quieter. I am attempting to make them less loud but audio work in the Xcom 2 editor is not my forte. Its a temporary solution to the problem.

@RambelZambel so that bug did occur earlier build. I fixed it for new games but it wont fix mid campaign. for other people it was only two lines.
