Ah so gibs aren't physical in multiplayer..
Simple fix, thank you!

boot the game into multiplayer mode

For me the gibs from broken wood and crates are physical so this doesn't remove them, and item cleaner doesn't seem to get prop gibs.
Is there any work around for this?

nice you know i quite hated that too... i'll be filming something and the gibs would stick around and i have to remove them manually, but i have to start the shot all over again from where i left off, you know what i miss in games? the fade away mechanics... just like golden eye, you shoot the enemies, they fall to the ground, and they fade away in seconds, just like that, i love it.
