If the NPC path of the map is properly designed, there is enough space, and the door ID is a regular door in Half-Life 2, the command will work properly. (If even one of the conditions is not right, sadly, the NPCs will start having difficulty carrying out the command.)
However, if the door ID is a rotating door type, it is dependent on the map and is recognized as part of the map, so the basic Half-Life 2 human NPCs (citizens, rebels) that can perform the automatic door opening function with other addons before executing the Fmod command may not recognize it as a door.
These are the results of testing various addons other than this one for all door types. Using the FMOD_GO command on Half-Life 2 doors gives the best response.

Although, for some odd reason when playing with this addon, a companion seemed like a real human... staring at props/entities I spawned, getting close to the player... I can't actually explain it, it's surreal.
Only you know if that was intentional or not, but I love it. Way better mod than the original.
