this mod does not work correctly. the settlers are taking ANY raw food to the composter, even if they're not selected for the receipt. and it would be nice when they would take only the rotten items which are mentioned in the pop-up notifications.

Uh, they keep throwing perfectly good food into the composter al the time... I dont see rotten food in the filter so...?

Just a little balance pointer.
10 raw food makes 2 cooked basic meals.
It would be a bit tamer if the secondary recipe required 4 cooked meals.

Yeah I have to agree, the filter doesn't work. I have everything unselected except raw poultry and insect meat and they keep trying to dump oil and fat in it.

The problem I'm having is I can't use "Insect Meat and Hay" exclusively. Even if I deselect every food type but insect meat, it will still choose fresh meat or meals and not use insect meat.

Don't worry with composting fresh food. I'm used to it. For me it is better variant than to have animals. I don't like keeping animals. They eat too much.
My solution is to farm much more of resource I'm planing to compost. For example grain - there is two harvests in one year, so the math is simple - first to the fridge, secong to the barell. :-)

there isnt a way to mark specific spoilage levels in the mod editor so so far its not possible to only send rotting foods to it. i tried. its not an option in there. at least yet. as soon as we modders can figure it out, that aspect will be added.

I don't know what's wrong with my version but even fresh food is stored in the compster. I can't believe that this is the intention of the composter.

im pretty happy with how it is now as well. seems fairly reasonable. a bunch of hay and some food scraps and you get a decent pile of compost. enough for a 10x10 field which is the default size for a field of grain. thanks for the ideas :)

Honestly, IMO.
the current recepy is good and i dont think it needs a change.
but in the end its your mod so its up to you.
im just gratefull you lissen to feedback and ideas. so, have a watermellon :melon:

(i know a few modders that have taken their entire mod collections down cause they get annoyed by all the people coming with tips and ideas, only to get pissed that people reupload his mods cause they liked them)

my rifle i tried to make mostly balanced. i mean its probably a little overpowered but nothing crazy. initiall pre-upload i had it set to do a killshot every round but i tamed it way down prior to posting so it feels a bit more normal. powerful, but not insane.

Big thanks sarge love this, saw you have made a bunch of other mods aswell (one wich im using drying rack one).
Also noticed you have a weapon mod, first of is it balanced with the ingame weapons or is it op?
and do you hapen to know if it would be possible to take the attack from the flame traps (if its even considered an "attack") and apply that to a rifle?
i have not done any modding my self so have no idea how dificult it is.
i would love to learn and i tried wanting to make a flamethrower but i have no clue what im doing XD
might look up some tutorial if there is one at some point.

i would not mind if you add hay, would help me personaly alot (maybe lower the food consumption a bit big maybe)
im making more hay than i can dispose of ...wish you could burn the stuff.

i had thought the same but as far as i could tell so far, if i add something like hay it will require it for each useage. so like it would take 100 food and 100 hay, not either/or. the only way to make it take any variety of things is to set it to categories like i did. i can add hay as a required resource though. if thats what people would prefer, and honestly it would make some sense to do that.

Hay... this would make sense since hay is compostable, just dont know if it would be balanced.
i for one have a ungodly amount of hay, wich i would love to turn into poop.

Aight good to know, about to test it but i think im gona like it.
as much as i love the animals shiting around i find keeping animals a bit anoying since they dont stop breeding and theres no way to automate the slaughter process (once more than 10 kill rest~yadayada).
so this is most likley gona be a good mod :)

i would love to have it only take foods on the brink of expiration, but i dont think there is a way to code that in yet as far as im aware. so as it stands it will just take foods you designate to be used. basically it works similarly to a fermenting barrel only it can accept any raw foods and outputs manure.

if i find out a way to make it only take foods that are about to go bad i will update it to that useage.

I would suggest that the compost be made available for construction when the survivors have first access to wood and food, not research.
